If Crea beat the case, he would have been the boss but also if Crea was to win his appeal, it’s most likely that he would continue on as Underboss now. They all respected Steven Crea, he was also the brains behind Matthew Madonna when he was the Acting Boss.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 6:03 pmDidnt know Madonna was also away. Good info. Thanks. This does make more sense.Little_Al1991 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 5:46 pm This was the exact message.
“There are guys out here loyal to you who want to bring the family back to Brooklyn”
That’s what it was about, bringing the family back to Brooklyn. When Vic became the boss, he shifted the family’s power to Brooklyn and they wanted to regain control because by 2017, the Lucchese’s actually had 0 crews directly located in Brooklyn.I’m sure Vic was happy with the idea of bringing the family back to Brooklyn
Vic wasn’t losing control but I would assume that he feels more comfortable and happy with one of his own guys in the top spot,Though we can only assume this.
At the time in 2017, Matthew Madonna who was the Acting Boss before DeSantis took over, was actually in a state prison on a gambling charge. It was the appropriate time to replace him also that big indictment was coming down which hit Madonna and Crea with life sentences
Though Im not sure thats the whole story.
Crea was UB for a LONG time. Matty acting. Big changes just to bring the team home.
But who knows.

If nobody is sending him an envelope, I would assume that he has legit income going to his familyNYNighthawk wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 6:09 pmIt's a new day in the mob - not like the old days - look Anthony Ruggiano form the Gambino - he flipped because no one took care of his family while he was in the can. Pete Gotti - as acting boss sent him a bill for $1800 in the can for a beef over his dead father - Fat Anthony. I think Crea if phucked and who ever is out in the street under the Luchese umbrella is taking over his company.Little_Al1991 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 5:55 pmA lot of people respected him, I’m sure some guys in the Bronx will give his family some moneySonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 5:52 pmCrea being admin didnt have guys directly under him. Probably, but he won't need it. He's worth a fortune
Re: The meeting that almost cost the Lucchese Family Underboss, Steven Crea, his life
Even before news of meeting, I thought it was kind of strange that Madonna remained acting boss, seeing he was doing 5 years even before the murder indictments came down. Acting bosses are in almost all cases replaced by a new acting boss when they are doing time. I wonder why and what was going on with the Luchese in that time period.

That is true. It’s highly likely that Crea and Joseph DiNapoli who was the Consigliere at the time just continued on with running the family without MadonnaFrank wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 1:01 pm Even before news of meeting, I thought it was kind of strange that Madonna remained acting boss, seeing he was doing 5 years even before the murder indictments came down. DiNapoli was sent to NJ state prison in Feb 2016 and didn't get out until a couple of weeks before the indictments in 2017. So Crea was the only administration member left on the street until DeSantis became acting boss in early 2017

So Crea was technically the acting boss?chin_gigante wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 3:49 pm DiNapoli was sent to NJ state prison in Feb 2016 and didn't get out until a couple of weeks before the indictments in 2017. He's never been identified as holding the position during that period, but appears to have served as a de facto acting boss

Crea Sr will still have influence from prison and don’t forget he has a son who is a captain. Eventually Jr will be on the street again so believe me no one is going to blatantly disrespect Sr in that fashion. The Brooklyn guys probably already divvied up a good portion of Sr illegal businesses but the Crea’s are rich in property and have legit income I’m sure they’ll be fine.NYNighthawk wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 6:09 pm I think Crea if phucked and who ever is out in the street under the Luchese umbrella is taking over his company.
