At the time in 2017, Matthew Madonna who was the Acting Boss before DeSantis took over, was actually in a state prison on a gambling charge.It was the appropriate time to replace him also that big indictment was coming down which hit Madonna and Crea with life sentences

Crea’s family must get a lot of legit income I assume but also Crea has guys on the street who really respect him so it’s highly likely that some guys are sending his family some money.

Crea being admin didnt have guys directly under him. I doubt guys were werent with him would send him an envelope.

Acting bosses are in almost all cases replaced by a new acting boss when they are doing time. I wonder why and what was going on with the Luchese in that time period.

That is true.It’s highly likely that Crea and Joseph DiNapoli who was the Consigliere at the time just continued on with running the family without Madonna

DiNapoli was sent to NJ state prison in Feb 2016 and didn't get out until a couple of weeks before the indictments in 2017. So Crea was the only administration member left on the street until DeSantis became acting boss in early 2017

Crea Sr will still have influence from prison and don’t forget he has a son who is a captain. Eventually Jr will be on the street again so believe me no one is going to blatantly disrespect Sr in that fashion. The Brooklyn guys probably already divvied up a good portion of Sr illegal businesses but the Crea’s are rich in property and have legit income I’m sure they’ll be fine.
