This guy did time with Gene Gotti at USP Pollock. He says that Gene was a good guy. He says that Gene was "down to earth". They ate together. He says that Gene was a hell of a cook out of a microwave. This guy says that when violence broke out Gene always vent to his cell. There’s an big story in the New York Times today about how much of a shithole Rikers is. They’ve done several of these stories but this one’s got some pretty unreal video footage. They got video of these Fight Club type scenes where a gang leader in one unit picks out prisoners to fist fight just for his entertainment. The guards pretend not to see or just watch from a distance. This gang leader, I believe he was Dominican, in this one unit also chooses who can and can’t eat. I can’t imagine being a wiseguy and having to go up in that hell pit by yourself. I know Hootie Russo and Gene Borello are lying morons but their description of their time at Rikers pretty much matched up with this article perfectly. Literal hell on earth.

Just read it, the gang/gang leader your referencing is the Trinitarios. Very notorious/dangerous, few of them got busted recently robbing rich folk of their rolexes in Manhattan in broad daylight, stealing luxury cars like lambos, etc.

I'm all for a harsh penal experience but not at the hands of the prisoners themselves. The savages will be savages but you don't let them run the asylum. Absolutely pathetic.

I wonder how much control the 157s have in NY state prison systems. 2 of their founders have been moaning for months about how all their efforts back in the 90s & 00s went to waste because of the new generations not being as united & tough and let the Bloods take over.

I remember reading some NYPD info on the gangs a while back. Both the Bloods and Trinitarios are considered "Tier 1 threats." The Bloods obviously fight among themselves but have more members than the Trinitarios, Crips, and Latin Kings combined.

John Pennisi spent 17 years in New York state prison system. From 1990 until 2007. According to him made guys are always clicked up with other Italians. He says that usually the LCN guys are left to be in New York prisons. He says LCN made guys more often than not are held in a sort of awe by other prisoners. Pennisi also says that there is no rank in New York prisons, so associates , capos and soldiers are all on the same level.

This guy Robert Rosso did time with Carmine Persico, Little Jimmy Ida, Matty the Horse, Batiste “Benny” Geritano, John Stanfa, Tommy Pitera, Tommy Reynolds etc in various federal prisons.
