Is Jerry Zanfardino related to Michael Zanfardino of the Genovese?

Not sure. They may be related but they are not father and son.

Didn’t Al D’Arco say that Trumanti was not welcomed to Tony Ducks coming home party and was told to stay away? Yet he showed up anyway?
If that’s true , it’s Kinda odd for someone to give that order to the boss .

I would assume it was bc Gribbs was a boss in an acting capacity until Ducks was released…at least that’s my understanding of the situation.PaddyWhack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 10:30 am Didn’t Al D’Arco say that Trumanti was not welcomed to Tony Ducks coming home party and was told to stay away? If Gigi the Whale was responsible for Gribbs getting the dope indictment, why didnt the Luccheses hit him?

Indeed it is, if it´s true. When did D´Arco say that? In his book? Keep in mind that both these men were under intense investigation by LE at the time so perhaps it was not an order, but a safety recommendation. I don´t think they wanted to be seen together.PaddyWhack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 10:30 am Didn’t Al D’Arco say that Trumanti was not welcomed to Tony Ducks coming home party and was told to stay away? Gribbs was not acting boss, but official boss. Did you read my post above?ChicagoOutfit wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 1:56 pmI would assume it was bc Gribbs was a boss in an acting capacity until Ducks was released…at least that’s my understanding of the situation.PaddyWhack wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 10:30 am Didn’t Al D’Arco say that Trumanti was not welcomed to Tony Ducks coming home party and was told to stay away? Gigi was also indicted with Tramunti and sent to prison. Hard to hit him there. And besides, not sure if Tramunti blamed him for the mess. They were pretty close. If someone was to be blamed, it would be the trial witness.Browniety86 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 5:13 pm If Gigi the Whale was responsible for Gribbs getting the dope indictment, why didnt the Luccheses hit him?

Re: Carmine Tramunti
From an older thread I posted:
- Note that Tramunti, Pappadio, and Corallo have all been described as proteges of Tommy Lucchese earlier on. Not sure how much substance there is to it, but interesting they all show up as top leaders during the period after his death. Stefano Magaddino said Pappadio accompanied Lucchese to a high-level meeting with Magaddino on a farm, indicating he was serving as a top aide when Lucchese was alive.- 1975 FBI report claims that Carmine Tramunti is still the boss of the family despite his incarceration.
- A "reliable source" claimed that the family was being run by a sort of informal committee prior to this report consisting of underboss Andimo Pappadio and the family capodecinas. pappadio and the captains meet to discuss family affairs and put them to a vote. This vote is the final decision on the matter, and then Carmine Tramunti is notified what the decision is but this is just a formality and he has "no impact" on the decisions. Edit: I want to stress that the word "committee" was not used -- I imagine Pappadio was the acting boss like mentioned elsewhere, but that he allowed the captains to run the family with him.
- Antonio Corallo was released in February 1974 and is said to meet with other family members in Queens. Prior to this report, an investigation determined that Corallo had become the acting boss of the family. It seems that the previous informal committee was no longer active once Corallo became acting boss, as Pappadio shows up as "retired" in the same report.
- Capodecina Joe Lucchese is said to still be heavily involved in gambling, loansharking, and narcotics in Queens at this time. I'm very interested in learning more about Joe Lucchese.
- Family structure circa 1975 according to this report:
Boss - Carmine Tramunti (Incarcerated)
Acting Boss - Antonio Corallo
Underboss - Andimo Pappadio (Retired)
Underboss - Stephen LaSalla (Retired)
Captains:
Joseph DiPalermo
Joseph Laratro
Joseph Lucchese
Paul Vario (Incarcerated)
(One redacted name -- length would match Christopher Furnari, so probably him)
Obviously NJ is left out and acting captains aren't including on any of these lists, so Corallo would have likely had an acting captain that should be included. Like I said in the Bonanno topic, though, these lists are to be taken pretty loosely.

From Anthony Accetturo in Five Families:
In June of 1976 Andimo Pappadio is ID’d as a soldier and Tony Corallo bluntly told Accetturo that he was the boss of the family before they had an extremely brief induction ceremony.
Raab also writes that Accetturo admired Corallo because when he took over the family in 1970, the New Jersey crew was kicking up hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to the hierarchy, but by the 80s he let them get away with $10k -$50k. However, that wasn’t a direct quote from Accetturo.
Scarpa told the FBI in July of 1971 that Tramunti was a member of the Commission and was sick over Colombo’s shooting.
