I knew a few wiseguys and without exception, Jo Jo Pecora really was a nice guy.

Informant Danny Kane in Montreal told his handlers that he was told by Norman Robitaille (high ranking Hells Angel of the Nomads chapter) that "Vito (Rizzuto) is a nice guy and it isn't a pretense". I always loved that line lol.

There was some guy from Philadelphia, forget who, who said what he misses most about the mob is that everyone was nice. They had to be because of a protocol, made guys respecting each other, etc. He says most people in society are rude as hell and he has to interact and mingle with them now, and he's not used to it.
Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”

Louie Ha Ha is supposedly a relatively nice guy. Well, except for the time he pumped several bullets into Caesar Bonventre. But we all have our bad days.

I met Joe Todaro Jr. in Buffalo at his pizzeria. He is as nice as it gets and everything he says is funny. Great guy, at least for someone at the top of a criminal conspiracy that uses murder as an enforcement tool.

Agree. Met him once while at the Win, Place and Show socializing with a few guys. Could have blown me off but conversed with me as anyone would.

Some you guys write about. Others that you couldn’t even find by googling.
Most are very quiet and very unassuming.

By nature most wiseguys are two faced. They wear the nice face mostly but you don’t want to see that other side.

Joe really was a man of the people. He was originally John's pick as his successor until Joe's time in Lexington. Jo Jo was much like John, a good guy.

No man, for any considerable period, can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude, without finally getting bewildered as to which may be the true.
