Anthony Casso wrote a letter to the Warden of USP Tucson asking him for compassionate release and in the wardens response to Casso he revealed specifically what Casso was suffering from

Spine damage which causes chronic pain and requires use of a wheelchair. Chronic back pain is defined as pain that continues for 12 weeks or longer, even after an initial injury or underlying cause of acute low back pain has been treated.I assume that Casso’s spine damage is due to degenerative reasons relating to his age

Waiting on a heart operations for blockages which causes shortness of breath.This is related to Coronary heart disease which is a common but serious condition where the blood vessels supplying the heart are narrowed or blocked.

Injections due to the remission of prostate cancer.Remission means a temporary diminution of the severity of disease or pain. Remission is either the reduction or disappearance of the signs and symptoms of a disease.

Catheter use due to bladder defect. A urinary catheter is a flexible tube used to empty the bladder and collect urine in a drainage bag. A urinary catheter is usually used when people have difficulty peeing (urinating) naturally.

Infection affecting your kidneys which are functioning at one third capacity.A google search of this said that “You have poor kidney function; your kidneys are moderately to severely damaged.”

The use of hearing aids. A hearing aid is a small electronic device that you wear in or behind your ear. It makes some sounds louder so that a person with hearing loss can listen, communicate, and participate more fully in daily activities.
As well as associated risk of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

At the time of Anthony Casso’s death, he was located at USP Tucson which is a high security Federal Prison in Arizona.Casso was transferred to USP Tucson on the 25th of March, 2020.A year before he arrived, Mafia cop Louis Eppolito passed away at USP Tucson.The prison is known for housing inmates who are frowned upon in other prisons.Inmates who are sex offenders, government witnesses and former police officer are sent to this facility.Anthony Casso was sent here because in 1994 he cooperated but in 1998 the government tore up his deal and sentenced him to 455 years in prison plus 13 life sentences.

Anthony Casso passed away on December 15th, 2020, while he was on a ventilator at the Banner University Medical Centre in Tucson Arizona due to complications from COVID-19 pneumonia.

Most sociopaths learn to mimic human emotion—when someone dies, they know they're supposed to feel sad about it, so they learn how to feign sadness. But in Casso's case, it's like he's so sociopathic that it doesn't even occur to him that he should feel sad about killing innocent people. The only time he can muster up any sort of emotion is when it comes to his own situation and how "unfairly" the government treated him.

It was a great interview but I understand what you mean.Vic and Gas first met in the early 1970s under Christopher “Christie Tick” Furnari.They made a lot of money together in the bypass crew and drug dealing, they even did hits for Furnari.They were very close so that’s why Amuso put Casso into positions of power.

As Butchie said, “conscience do cost”. If you’re a gangster you can’t really have compassion. Obviously he didn’t as a sociopath, but he was in the right line of work for that.
