For Ontario, probables would be -

Jason Lalonde - attempt, Stoney Creek. Musitano Associate.

Simon Giannini - murder, Toronto. Personal beef?

Lalonde was a known Musitano associate per reports.

Fair to assume the other two may be completely unrelated to a war.

They can all be googled. I have to believe that Giannini was somehow Italian OC related, especially since he was killed during dinner at a downtown restaurant. So professional and the killer would have had to have intel he was there at that time.

I spent a few minutes googling and reading about Giannini. Seems like many thought he was a straight laced civilian and he laughed at the gunman as he was approached in the steakehouse...he literally thought it was a joke...he wasn't expecting to get killed and didn't seem like he was involved in a shooting war of any kind..he wasn't a gangster but apparently it was probably related to the sins of his brother Frank in Thailand, running boilerroom stock scams and running around with guns and goons in Pattaya.definitely seems to be very OC related and I'm wondering if the guys Frank was involved with were Cosa Nostra or Ndranheta...

AND it was the second time in a few years that masked gunman stormed that restaurant and shot people...a couple was shot by two masked gunman in there a few years before but survived...what a place, wonder if its a coincidence or related to the owner somehow...I mean how does that randomly happen twice in the same steakhouse?

Late addition, in 2022 there were two other killings I know of, one of Domenico Macri (February 9, 2022) and another of Stephane Dupuis (April 12, 2022).

Not that I'm an expert about this era (I'm not), but I don't think the murders post-2016 are connected to the inital power struggle surrounding the incarceration and then the death of Vito Rizzuto

I agree Motorfab. The 2016-2019 conflict with the Scoppa brothers was its own. To answer Ivan's question I think the war or wars are over. Most of the murders that have taken place in the last 3 years are biker related. The other murders and shootings of Arena, Barberio, Oliverio, Armeni, and Del Balso don't appear to be the beginning of a new power struggle. One article that came out sometime after Oliverio was shot said something to the effect that the shootings were more related to criminal activities Moreno than a new power struggle.
