I dont think it's that big of a shock or strange for them not to. The Bonannos have a history of informal inductions and B probably laid it out best here in earlier pages.

- Lamothe / Humphreys said in Montreal they refer to made members having "hot hands" in reference to the burning paper in your hands during mafia induction. Curious who the source of this info was but could just be a euphemism regardless of whether a formal ceremony is used.

- Carmine Galante likely inducted most of the original Montreal Bonanno members in the 1950s and he went on to perform verbal-only inductions in the 1970s, including Joe Massino's induction in a barroom with random citizens nearby. Massino went on to do verbal-only ceremonies, including a quick "ceremony" at a highway rest stop. The Ontario ceremony in the mid-2010s was the same non-traditional induction and a Buffalo member attended and apparently had no issue with an informal ceremony. If Scoppa is right that the Montreal group doesn't follow mafia traditions, it's not a trait unique to Montreal and it would be in line with their history in the Bonanno family.

To Everyone: Pardon my ignorance, but is Andrew Scoppa the same person as Andrea Scoppa? And if so, isn't he dead? And if he is dead, then when was the information comprising the upcoming book collated?

Yes, it's the same person. Being a police and journalistic source for a while and having in addition a contract on his head, he secretly met Félix Seguin & Éric Thibaut in Spain in order to deliver his confessions to them with instructions to publish them only after his death. I believe it was in 2018

Can it be because ultimately it left us with more questions than answers. Despite being a high level guy his revelations didn't shed any light on the current Bonanno/Montreal relationship, if the current leaders are made and with who etc.

+1 to the more questions than answers. I don't care if he's a snitch or not I remember reading on here he gets caught with 50 keys of blow and the mountees give him some coffee and an Ativan before releasing him on his own recognizance. Could be missing something but good God almighty that's crazy.
