Vic Amuso loyalists

Post by Little_Al1991 »

ACTIVE section
Michael DeSantis - The current Lucchese Family Acting Boss proved his loyalty to Amuso a longtime ago when he served 18 years in prison for 2 murders he committed that were ordered by Vic Amuso.DeSantis was released in 2010 and 7 years later he decided to write a letter to Amuso that sent him to the top of the Lucchese Family.“There are guys out here loyal to you who want to bring the family back to Brooklyn.” That’s what DeSantis wrote to Amuso and Amuso wrote back giving him his permission to become The Acting Boss.

Patty Dellorusso - the longtime Vario Crew member proved his loyalty to Amuso when he committed the murder of Thomas Red Gilmore who Amuso suspected was an informant.Patty also controlled the Airport rackets for the Lucchese Family, Al D’Arco of course inherited Dellorusso as a member of his crew as he later became the Capo of the Vario Crew but Amuso personally transferred Dellorusso from D’Arco’s crew into Anthony “Bowat” Baratta’s crew.Patty went away in the 90s came out in 2004 and is now currently the Underboss of the Lucchese Family.

George “Georgie Neck” Zappola - Formely a very close friend of Gaspipe, who was also trusted by Amuso to be a shooter for him.Zappola participated in the murders of Union Boss James Bishop, Michael Pappadio who refused to stay out of the garment centre and of course many more i assume.Zappola became a Capo and in 1996 went away after pleading guilty to racketeering and multiple counts of murder. He was released in 2014 and is active today.George played a part in Michael DeSantis becoming the Acting Boss so that means when DeSantis sent the letter to Amuso which said “there are guys who are loyal to you…”Zappola was apart of those “guys” some people believe that George was a close ally of Casso and not Amuso but he is a loyalist to Amuso and was formerly close to Casso.

Frank "Frankie Bones" Papagni - not to much is known about Frankie but he was apart of a plot to whack Steven Crea because he didn’t want the power base of the Lucchese Family to go back to the Bronx.Frankie was indicted on murder charges in the 1990s and came home in 2015.He was apart of Michael DeSantis becoming the Acting Boss.

Anthony “Bowat” Baratta - Former Capo of the Harlem Crew who was apart of the ceremony when Michael DeSantis was inducted into the Lucchese Family in November of 1989.Bowat was apart of a ruling panel of the Lucchese leadership in 1991, Amuso also personally transferred Patty Dellorusso from Al D’Arco’s crew into Bowat’s. In November 1993, Baratta took a plea deal and was sentenced to fifteen years in prison. When he was released in 2012, he was placed onto the shelf until Michael DeSantis became the Acting Boss and took him of the shelf and now Bowat is active.

Ray Argentina - Ray had a very close friendship with Louie Bagels Daidone, who would later become the Acting Boss but as for Ray, he proved himself as a very capable guy and later he went away for many years, Ray was released in 2019, he is very feared and the transition from Matthew Madonna to Michael DeSantis will clearly benefit him

INACTIVE section
Alphonse D’Arco - Amuso first met in the 1950s and would later meet him again in prison.Amuso promoted D’Arco to the rank of Capo in the Vario Crew and trusted him with the task of many murders.Amuso would later promote D’Arco to the position of Acting Boss in 1991.D’Arco flipped in the same year and testified against Amuso in his 1992 trial where he sentenced to life for 9 murders and 54 counts of racketeering.(flipped)

George “Georgie Goggles” Conte - the former Brooklyn Capo is another member who proved his loyalty to Amuso by murdering for him and of course Amuso rewarded him with the position of Capo.Conte went away in the 1990s on various counts of murder and racketeering after pleading guilty and was released in 2014.Conte is no longer apart of the life and is retired.(Retired)

Frank Lastorino - Frankie has quite the story with the Lucchese Family, he has participated in many murders and eventually rose to the rank of Consigliere.Lastorino was shelved by Amuso because he participated in a plot with Casso to take over the family.Casso ordered Lastorino to kill Patty Testa, after it was done Casso blamed it on John Gotti Junior and told Amuso who was now in prison, that they did it for revenge over Frankie DeCicco. In June 1995, Lastorino took a plea deal and was sentenced to 18 years in prison. Lastorino was released from prison on December 23, 2008, after serving 14 years in prison on conspiracy to commit murder, racketeering and several murders, including the murder of painters union official James Bishop.(Shelved)

Domenico "Danny" Cutaia - Amuso’s liaison between the ruling panel in 2007 was a a loan shark and as a chauffeur for capo Paul Vario early on in his career. He later took over as capo of Vario's crew in Brooklyn.During the early 1990s, Amuso placed Cutaia into a ruling panel along with Steven Crea, Joseph DeFede running the Lucchese Family. In January 2007 it was reported that Cutaia was the primary liaison between jailed boss Vittorio "Vic" Amuso and the three man panel of capos who were running the family.Cutaia ran the Vario Crew for many years and passed away in 2018. (Died naturally)

Joseph “Little Joe“ DeFede - Amuso knew DeFede since they were teenagers in Brooklyn, DeFede was an associate in the Colombo Family for 20 years until Amuso who by now was the boss of the Lucchese Family decided to induct him into the Lucchese Family and later make him a Capo.Once Amuso went away for life, he made DeFede into the Acting Boss but in 1998, DeFede was sent to prison and upon his release in 2002, he flipped because Amuso had put a contract out on him for skimming during his time as the Acting Boss.(Flipped)

Peter Chiodo - the heavyset Capo committed 5 murders in total and they were all under the time when Chiodo was under Amuso’s leadership.Amuso trusted him as the Lucchese’s main man in the highly profitable Window Case.Chiodo flipped after he was shot 12 times for pleading guilty to charges relating to the Windows Case which effected the strategy that Vic and Gas had for beating the charges.(flipped)

Patty Testa - Patty was Amuso’s messenger, they became close and it was Patty’s death that Gaspipe orchestrated to deceive Amuso.Patty was killed by Lastorino on orders from Casso who used this as a way to kill John Gotti Junior and take control of the family from Amuso.Gaspipe told Amuso that the reason the Gambino’s had hit Patty was so that they could get someone close to him like how they had whacked Frankie DeCicco who was close to John Gotti.(Shot to death)

Louis “Louie Bagels“ Daidone - The former Acting Boss who was sent away for life in 2004 became a Made Man in 1982 and proved his loyalty to Amuso by murdering Thomas Red Gilmore along with Patty Dellorusso and then Louie murdered Bruno Facciolo for Vic Amuso. These 2 murders came back to haunt Louie in 2004.In 2000, Amuso handpicked his Daidone to become the Acting Boss but his reign was short lived as in 3 years he was arrested and then one year later he was sentenced to life in prison where he currently remains.

I originally posted this on Reddit under the account name “Little_Al1991” That is me
Also I forgot to mention that Frankie Bones was the Consigliere of the Lucchese Family from 1993 until 1996.Possibly a Capo in Brooklyn now.

Welcome to the board! What's the source that Papagni was the consigliere between 1993 and 1996? If I remember correctly, he was IDd and indicted as a captain for the Mariconda murder.

Thank you.Mikey DeSantis could be going back inside soon because an indictment is being built against him and Dellorusso

Thank you.I remember hearing from somewhere that Papagni was the Consigliere at one time but Wikipedia says 1993 until 1996.It’s not exactly the most reliable source but it’s something though

He’s real comfortable over in Jersey, turned down the Acting Boss position to remain in Jersey.

They been saying an indictment building against them for years... nypost had an article as far back as 2018 stating that. I think their informants have not panned out as they hoped when that article ran.

I checked the references. Former federal prosecutor John Kroger identifies him as a one-time consigliere, but I haven't seen anything pointing out that he was in position for three years. The excerpt in question:

When I search Papagni in my digital copy of Mob Boss, nothing comes up. I guess D'Arco never mentioned him?

I think the NY post article was released last year stating that they would be indicted but I believe that they are just making the case against them solid. The Manhattan US Attorneys office will wait for as long as they need to but once the indictment comes down, I don’t think DeSantis and Dellorusso can beat it

If anything I’m betting they are trying to include as many people as possible in the indictment. I expect multiple informers over quite some times like the old 2017 indictment

He wasn’t able to take the acting boss position because he was on paper so it went to Big Mike. George stayed as a soldier until he was off paper and they found a spot for him.
