Great photo of the Racalmuto club. Wonder if there's an old membership list archived somewhere like we've seen with other paesani societies in the US. Have to believe there may have been a couple more obscure early Buffalo members from Racalmuto in Hamilton aside from Bordonaro and the Scibettas given how little we know.

I’ve got a copy of the original as well, it’s a lot wider with more people in it. It was taking in 1931, same year as CN was established in NYC.

I know of people with the last name Licata, Cino and Marranca, with ties to Railway Street as well as the actual train system at the time, as well as having people in those circles working for the Church in Buffalo. As well, as potentially at Steve Magaddino’s funeral home!

There were also Sylvesteri or Sylvestro and the Serge Family, but I think they were Calabrese.

Not sure but I think he had HA connections in niagara via nick nero. Nick Nero worked with martino caputo who was also a rizzuto connected guy like ranieri, in the gta.

I'm thinking no, based merely on the mention in the article that Mike Stante feared Nero -- if Stante were related to Paula, he would have no reason to fear most people, really.

I believe stante was from Potenza in basilicata, so I don’t think he was. I’m interested to know how he was connected with Nero in the first place and I’m very interested if edwards mentions anything about why martino caputos brother Paolo was killed recently. Was it a cartel debt? A message to martino? Bikers? Ndrangheta? I think alot of interesting info will be revealed, including info on the caruana-commisso conflict in 2018 that happened here in Woodbridge

I would have thought Stante likely had ancestry from Abruzzo, Basilicata, or Puglia -- based on the search results found at https://www.cognomix.it/mappe-dei-cogno ... ani/STANTE -- but I think he's Sicilian, based on more direct information.

We know that Michael Commisso ("Michele") married a Canadian Jewish woman. I don't think either Rocco or Cosimo Commisso married Calabrian-Canadians.

Edwards's article mentions that at Nero's gym (in Niagara Falls, Ontario), Nero was Stante's personal trainer. The court document found at https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/ ... ingard-llp confirms this; it also indicates that Stante, before being arrested, ran a business in Niagara Falls for a year.

That’s interesting, yes I remember saying that catroppa was with Musitano + commisso which makes sense that he was with Tony fiorda. The thing I am not sure about is tony fiordas death linked to catroppas murder? I’m thinking maybe not but who knows.

Here is what we know these individuals are all connected to Gerace in some capacity according to the Buffalo News.
1. The police officer is Daniel Derenda. He wrote a letter of leniency for Gerace's 2006 conviction in which he states, "We think so highly of Gerace that we asked him to be godfather to our daughter XXXXXX last year." 2. The priest was Rev. Joseph F. Moreno Jr. He, also wrote a letter of leniency for Gerace. A few year later he commits suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but his relatives insist he was murdered. He had nearly 1/2 million in debt. I've heard it was gambling related--but that is rumor.

3. The judge is Michalski. He appeared to be committing suicide by laying in front of the slow moving freight train. When a lawyer he allegedly did legal work for Gerace's club and the two became friends. In addition, he is alleged to have conducted an illegal marriage (Gerace & Katrina Nigro who stripped and had an adult store at Pharaoh's night club) for which he was supposedly paid $5000 by Gerace "to help his kids with college."
