Outsiders made in another OC gruops.

Post by furiofromnaples »

Sometimes outsiders was made in oc groups in which they should'nt be made, for example:

Joe "Pegleg" Morgan-Mexican mafia;
John Willis - Triad;
Brandon Queen- Scottish Camorra members (cited in Gomorrah book);
Tyler Bingham - Aryan Brotherhood (half jew);
Michael Thompson - Aryan Brotherhood (indian american ancestry);
Michael Cecchetelli, italian,latin king regional boss;
Angelo Fusco an italian that was a former volunteer in the Belfast Brigade of the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA);
Salvatore Mancuso the Colombian AUC leader is half italian.

Any other examples?

Anyone think that is true?

Roark, who is white, developed Dead Man Inc. by merging three other gangs within the Maryland prison system in the late 1990s, after he was rejected by the African-American Black Guerrilla Family gang, investigators have said

DMI began as a sort of white contractor for the Black Guerrilla Family, carrying out killings and assaults in exchange for drugs, and grew into its own criminal brotherhood, looking out for its members' safety and addictions, prosecutors said.

yes I think that info is correct. the racially based prison gangs don't have as much of a supremacist / separatist hard line, as they are commonly reported to have. Matter fact, the only ones who historically haven't and wouldn't take anyone of mixed race or a race outside their own, is the BGF, only because of their origin story and their genesis, and what they were birthed out of. Then again, one of their original members was Afro-Latino descent from Nicaragua... so even then there are exceptions (he may be the only one). They were more of a political group versus the other 3 big gangs that were more or less formed as merely racketeering enterprises, just under the auspices and under the front of something larger and ideologically based.

I think the way it works is if you're a "half breed" - you can't straddle the line, you choose which race you want to run under as soon as you go in - and that's where you have to stay. There are stories of fully white people who go in and maybe if they've grown up around mexicans and feel more comfortable there, they'd immediately identify with being a Sureno and ride under that banner - but if that's the case, once they make that decision there is no turning back, and if there's any fighting between races than those types are usually the first targeted by their 'birth race'

As brutal and as harsh as it is, the Cali system seems to be the most, if not the only, organized prison system in the U.S. As ridiculous as some of those racial lines may seem, by all accounts it mitigates trouble.

DMI has an interesting story. They're only really in the Maryland and Virginia system, and maybe to a small degree the federal prisons in the mid-Atlantic region

At least in Chicago where they started, the Latin Kings have never been exclusively Latino (though historically they have had predominately Puerto Rican and predominately Mexican divisions). According to an old head (King Rory) that I used to know back in Chicago, one of the first LK sections that opened was near Homan and Ohio in Humboldt Park, in the 1950s. This area was predominately Italian still at this time (many Outfit guys were from this neighborhood including Jack Cerone and Joe Gagliano) and there were a number of Italian LK members even in the 1950s.

When I was a kid in the 80s and 90s I knew of a bunch of LKs who were African American or white (Polish, Italian, hillbilly). The LKs had a whole chapter of Assyrian Kings that were sort of an autonomous entity (Assyrian gangbangers in Chicago are no joke), a Filipino section (“Flip City”) in the Albany Park neighborhood (where they also had Middle Eastern and other Asian members), and a section in the Chinatown area with Chinese Kings.

Chicago gangs started as racial/ethnic clubs, but as they developed they were never particularly strict about these things. Even explicitly racist white gangs like the Gaylords, Royals, Jousters, or C-Notes had Latino and American Indian members going back to the 60s (but no blacks).

So isnt realistic when in OZ Alvares was blamed because he was too white for a latino?

“Oz” is not a depiction of Chicago street gangs (which also run the IL prison system).

Having said that, the actor who plays Alvarez (Kirk Acevedo) is Puerto Rican and there are many Puerto Ricans who are of predominately European ancestry (there are also many blacks, though the majority of PRs are of mixed ancestry and an intermediate phenotype).

Thanks for the history lesson PolackTony. But I put an example of a white boy in the Chinese mob or a half jew in the Aryan Brotherhood,I can understand today why a latin oc group should allow to a white to be a member or a chiedere like Ceschelli.
Its like the mob would allow the italians on mother side to be made or even to a person that are a moneymaker but is irish,polack ecc.

Not sure that I completely follow here, Fur, but it’s all good. I’m in no position to comment on Chinese triads or the Aryan Brotherhood. My initial comment was specific to the Latin Kings, who — at least in their “Motherland” of Chicago — have always had non-Latino members and specifically Italians from their earliest days.

In the post i thanked you for the lesson on chicago underworld, what i meant is that i was looking for really extreme cases of a person who was accepted in a criminal group where he could not enter as a white in the triad or a half jew among the aryans .
The italian and latino are pretty similar apart the language but a chinese in the triad is like a black get made in the mafia.
