Vincent (Jimmy) Rotondo

Post by Browniety86 »

There's never been clarification on who actually hit Jimmy Rotondo. The theory that Chin had him clipped has came up but never expanded upon...any thoughts as to why Chin or frankly any theory on why he was hit? He was a staple on the Brooklyn waterfront, perhaps that...maybe the Jesse Hyman infiltration?

Yeah that channel is really good. Highly suggest the channel for anyone who doesn’t know about it.

I watched that last night...I think it was Bronx told me on here that he thought the Genovese were behind it and for the same reason as the OC Shortz guy said...makes sense to me...

Or Riggi’s…Someone perhaps did it on the sneak. What was chin’s motive for this again? To start tension between Gambinos and Decavabinos? Or maybe cause jersey was tight w Gambinos Chin thought he could hit them since they are not technically gambinos

What about this theory:

“Rotondo introduced an associate, scamming Dentist Dr. John Hyman, to the DeCavalcante's. Hyman later turned informant, and subsequently, DeCavalcante boss John "The Eagle" Riggi, who felt Rotondo was threatening his leadership, ordered his killing.”

Does it really make sense to kill a captain because an associate ratted?

At the time, Chin was pretty much policing the entire Mafia by hitting people who broke the rules...i.e. Philly after the Bruno hit, those close to Gotti after Castellano was killed, etc...so by Rotondo introducing Hyman to several made guys, was this a rule Jimmy broke that Chin thought warranted the clip?
