I'm just ribbing you, buddy.
I do want to go back to Cicale... why do so many people online challenge his info? A certain charismatic "internet personality" went out of his way to trash Cicale and it seems like people took this "personality's" word for it without much concrete evidence.

Re: Al Trucchio
Maybe Al trucchio whacked Nick Cirillo and he got shelved for doing it on the sneak. Maybe Basciano asked the Gambinos to do it so people on Internet forums could debate about it for years so they could divide government attention
But seriously though I would be interested in any gang lands about the Trucchio crew if anyone could post

Re: Al Trucchio
For yours calling Basciano Jnr and requesting $250k to change his testimony and free his father was a red flag on trustworthiness.

Re: Al Trucchio
I'm referring mainly to his 302s and testimony, which Pogo referenced. You have to be able to separate what someone says under oath versus what they say later. I read Cicale's little book (more like a pamphlet) and obviously he makes statements that haven't been corroborated but that doesn't necessarily mean he is lying.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 3:16 pmFor yours calling Basciano Jnr and requesting $250k to change his testimony and free his father was a red flag on trustworthiness.
Where can I read more on the alleged payoff he wanted? Who provided that info? Nothing comes up in Google and I don't remember it. Thank you.

Re: Al Trucchio
Good Q. Cant recall source, only broad strokes of story, I initially googled as well and brick wall.
If anyone has any info, please furnish.
My take on Quiet Doms kid going MIA, FWIW, I dont believe either the B's, Basciano or the Westside were responsible. IMO LCN isnt clipping a kid for a reported dustup in this day and age, plenty of people have done worse and nothing happens, let alone a beating. They're going to clip someone in this day and age over an insult, or words or the like? And a Boss's son no less?
This isnt 1950.
The kid was involved in drugs, heavy, thats almost certainly the source. Everybodies picking either the Westside vs the Bonnaos is missing the giant elephant in the room, in my fact-less, evidence-less, worthless opinion.

Re: Al Trucchio
I agree that it could have been unrelated to the mafia. The Genovese family's alleged comments to Bonanno leaders don't necessarily imply guilt on their part, only knowledge of what happened.
Back to the story you mentioned. If that is a real story that has made its rounds, the only people who know what happened in that conversation are Basciano Jr. and Cicale. Cicale wouldn't be the first CW to commit a crime or try and extort someone, but if you're going to trust that Basciano Jr. is telling the truth about a conversation he had with the guy who betrayed his father, you might as well cut to the chase and dedicate your life to proving Steve Crea is an innocent civilian.
You realize too that if Cicale reversed all of his damning testimony against Basciano, Cicale would go back to prison for lying under oath, right? His agreement would be gone and he'd be Anthony Casso.

It wasn't "this day and age," it was the 2000s, which were much bloodier than now.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 3:31 pm IMO LCN isnt clipping a kid for a reported dustup in this day and age, plenty of people have done worse and nothing happens, let alone a beating.

Re: Al Trucchio
An issue with mafia-related murders is people always want there to be one single reason. Sometimes there is, but often someone is murdered for an ongoing pattern of behavior and multiple incidents.

Re: Al Trucchio
Of course. Whether Cicale knew this, whether it was a bluff or whether it actually happened, of course I have no idea. It just seemed to fit the arrogant persona of his Youtube videos that I wouldnt put it past him. He's no Penisi in demeaner.
Keep in mind the zeitgeist of the era. This was coming off the back of a decade long LCN moratorium on murders.Ivan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 3:50 pmIt wasn't "this day and age," it was the 2000s, which were much bloodier than now.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 3:31 pm IMO LCN isnt clipping a kid for a reported dustup in this day and age, plenty of people have done worse and nothing happens, let alone a beating.
Surely there would be better targets for clipping than a Westisde bosses son for some minor infraction.
Great point. Concur.

Was it Cicale or his dad that was an informant in Florida on a big drug case?

Re: Al Trucchio
Great point. What are some good examples of this? Joe Aiello in Chicago probably qualifies as he was finally killed just for being a pest in general over several years.

Re: Al Trucchio
Oh man, it's going to be a long list. It honestly might be easier to list guys who were killed for only one incident. Often there is one final incident that breaks the camel's back but many mafia murders happen after someone has allowed the family to build a case against him.
A few that come to mind:
- As said above, Pinzolo is a good example. Another in the Bonannos is Russell Mauro.
- Joe Gallo of the Colombos is one of the most famous examples.
- Leo Giammona didn't follow orders from Casso about a Treasury bill scam and his attitude was bothering the Lucchese family so they were considering killing him. The Sicilians had their own issue with him and wanted him dead, so they got the Lucchese family to finally approve the murder.
Etc.
