As we know he didn't become boss and maybe it's for the obvious reasons -- guy was a hostile prick who acted like he was down to his last pill of Viagra 24/7.

Ozone Park Youths in Narcotics
Arrest; Holding Heroin Capsules

Two Ozone Park youths were
picked up by detectives of the 106th
precinct Friday and nailed cold with
the evidence of heroin capsules in
their possession.

At 1 p. m. Detectives Al Seeley
and George Kelley were aware that
Joseph Winkler, 21, of 1«-12 89th
road, and Vincent Asaro, 24, of 106-
42 96th street, were confessed narcotics
addicts.

They had them under surveillance
for some time at 109th avenue and
98th road; their actions prompted the
lawmen into collaring both youths.

Searching them, they found three
heroin-filled capsules tightly gripped
in Winkler's fist, which he had been
unable to throw away.

Both Winkler and Asaro, who are
laborers, confessed they are heroin
users, and unable to break the habit.
They were arraigned in Queens
Weekend Court.

Unconscious Condition

Without recovering from the coma
in which he lay, Rosario Leale, 21,
of 310 Grove street, Brooklyn died
last week from injuries suffered
after being struck down by a car
on Lefferts boulevard January 20.

Arrested at the time and charged
with leaving the scene of the acci
dent was Vincent Asaro of 689 Drew
street, Brooklyn. Although Asaro
had stopped the car and ran over
to Leale's side, he fled before the
police had arrived. A few hours
later he walked into the Richmond
Hill station house and confessed
that he had been tho driver of the
accident car. Witnesses at the scene
had summoned aid for the stricken
pedestrian.

Leale was struck on a rainy night
as he started to cross the boulevard
at the corner of Jamaica avenue.
He was burried in St. Joseph's
Cloister Cemetery, Queens. He is
survived by his parents and by two
sisters

2 Arrested
In Bank Job

Two men alleged to have
been the gunman and the
driver of the getaway car in
the $10,460 robbery June 18,
1965, of the Jamaica Savings
Bank branch at 87-10
Queens boulevard, Elmhurst,
were arrested today.

Picked up by the Federal
Bureau of Investigation were
Donald Francis Scotto, alias
"Don Scott," 30, of 244
Flower road, Valley Stream,
the alleged gunman, and
Vincent Asaro, 31, of 689
Drew street, Brooklyn.
Asaro was charged with
being the getaway auto
driver, according to Assistant
U. S. Attorney Michael
Gillen.

Both men wer e
scheduled for arraignment
today before U. S. Commissioner
Max Schifman in,
Brooklyn Federal Court

Interestingly one of the people that Vincenzo Asaro was arrested with in his 1934 bootlegging case was a Biaggio Valenti. Biaggio had a son named Gaspare, but would be too old to be "Gary". My guess is Gary is the son of the elder Gaspare or son of one of Biaggio's other sons. Curious if Biaggio Valenti may have been a member.

Ah the good ol' days when two guy's being busted for using heroin was so rare that it makes the papers. How I wish I could have experienced those simpler and more innocent times.

Heroin was actually a huge problem during the 50s. Dion was even addicted to it.
