Former NYPD detective Tommy dades grew up and has always been friends with Larry Mazza and he also knew Sammy the bull as a kid.Now he openly admits he still talks with them and former colombo captain anthony russo.He was probably friends with way more wiseguys but cant mention them because they are still active.Do you guys think he was a corrupt detactive?I know he helped bring down the mafia cops but if hes personal friends with these guys its very hard to imagine he wasnt giving them a helping hand when they needed it

Tommy Dades has some good insights on the Colombo war during that time, he shared on a few of his interviews on YouTube...like Anthony Russo telling him that they were going to hit John Pappa right before Pappa was snatched up. Also that Pappa was sending letters to Dades depicting/threatening the shooting of his wife/daughter (something like that).

He’s clearly good friends with Calandra, too. I’m not sure why it would be weird. It’s ok for people to be friends with people who aren’t friends with each other. That happens.
