It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Whoa, really? Where'd you get this? I guess it's probably easy to get that total when you count individual shotgun pellets as one "round" though...Manhattan_ wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 11:20 am Autopsy report 84 entry and exit wounds ! Hit with 42 rounds !

One thing I'm curious about is the witness who saw Bonventre and Amato leaving the restaurant and said Bonventre was walking as if his pants were wet. Funny visual. Not that he pissed himself, but wondered if he got blood on his clothes or if it was from wine/drinks breaking. Must have been chaos back there, not a huge patio and you had a lot of people and a lot of guns, including a shotgun.
I still wonder about James Galante's involvement, too. He dropped his uncle off and allegedly right before the hit team arrived James called the restaurant and asked if his uncle was still there. He was given a pass afterward and stayed active in family affairs.
Curious too about the relation to John Galante, a Bonanno member in Greenpoint/Williamsburg who was made in the 1970s. Given his last name and where he operated he must be Castellammarese but never seen any relation to the other Galantes.

Re: 42 years ago today ….
My whole life, ever since I learned about the Galante hit, I always wondered how the food was at that Joe and Mary's place. I'm still trying to see if anyone I know ever ate there. My wife has older relatives in Bushwick still but they are the types to have never eaten outside food in their lives and don't even remember the restaurant existing. I bet Galante's leisurely, final lunch was legendary. I'm picturing multiple courses, drinks, espresso after, fruits, etc. - the works.
