Quite a busy guy with so many jobs :)

John Montana, member of the Buffalo family, was also a member of the Buffalo City Council from the late 20s to the early 30s. He served on the council’s finance committee. Ran for congress in the late 30s. And according to Joe Bonanno, he could stop trains!

Since I'm currently reading Men of Dishonor, here's some politician identified by Nino Calderone :

Concetto Gallo, represented the Movement for the Independence of Sicily (MIS) in the Constituent Assembly of Italy from 1946 to 1948. Man of honor in Catania

Calogero Volpe, member of the Democrazia Cristiana, and among other things mayor of Montedoro

Giuseppe Guttadauro. I have no more details about him, he's just mentionned once. Curiously he have the same name of another famous mafioso, but it's not the same era

Guttadauros are very powerful in Sicilian mafia ,Could it be same family? Giuseppe 'The Doctor' Guttadauro a boss of Roccella family(Brancaccio mandamento), he was primary of Palermo hospital and surgeon, Carlo Guttadauro a capo in Bagheria and Filippo Guttadauro capo in Castelvetrano.Guttadauros have huge control over fish market in south Italy and are heavily involved in gambling on Malta.

Someone mentioned Silvio Berlusconi, he wasn't made but for sure done business with mafia for over 20 years. He was member of P2.

I also thought he could be a relative, but I really don't know. The only things I know is that according to Calderone: he was a member of Parliament a monarchist or liberal from Palermo (good luck finding the truth between the two haha) but he was never very active in CN . I tried to do a quick internet search but couldn't find anything yet.

Noted that Calderone also mentions a deputy from the province of Agrigento but he doesn't give the name. I guess he didn't know him.

Great info. Calderone was an amazing resource.

Always wondered about Dennis DeConcini, Arizona senator, in Bill Bonano's book he mentions DeConcini Sr. doing favors for him.

Never got the impression DeConcini was made but stories like Louis Boschetto (an Austrian-Italian from the far north was who an "amico nostra" in Wyoming) keep me open-minded about other possibilities...

What's also interesting, he even got elected while being on the run.
he is a tricky one though as he wasn't a mafioso then, he was on the run for a problem of 'public security' as he was wanted for something else - he wasn't effectively ever elected mayor either!

There are examples in Calabria - see Giuseppe Scopelliti, former governor of Calabria and former mayor of Reggio Calabria - just a example!

Was he a fully-initiated member of the 'ndrangheta?

Apparently not - or not in the 'ndrangheta at least. Most likely he was somewhat connected to the Santa, the other organisation next to the 'ndrangheta where ndranghetisti gather to reach politicians and masons, effectively leaving the 'ndrangheta crimes behind and entering a secret society for power bases
