That family sticks to themselves, that area is still like the 80s so I wouldn’t be shocked if they have rebuilt . They could also been be on their legs, we don’t know but if an FBI agent says they are stronger then many think , I’m going with that until I hear more / otherwise
He didn't just say they are stronger than many think (which would also raise an eyebrow), he said they could give the NY families a run for their money. Granted it was a passing statement (perhaps just hyperbole) on his part but, even if he was given the opportunity to justify what he said, I doubt he could.

As we know, for decades the family was very unique in that they had a rather narrow niche - the construction industry in North Jersey. The lynchpin being control of LIUNA Local 394. That's been gone for 15 years. There are still some connected companies, particularly in moving C&D materials it seems, but the family has lost it's powerbase and primary source of money.

Beyond that, it seems they have never really recovered from the 1999-2001 busts, where their boss, 3 ruling panel members, consigliere, 5 captains and 7 soldiers were all indicted. When has any other small family ever been hit that hard in the space of a few years?

I'm sure people will point out that was 20 years ago but, even then, the DeCavalcantes were still considered the weakest family in the region. And the occasional cases since then haven't exactly showed a powerhouse. The 2015 case - his case - was the most significant in quite a while and the charges basically amounted to lower-level drug dealing, contraband cigarettes, and a plan to operate an escort service that never got off the ground. Even Stango, during the investigation, said "We're weak."

And when was even the last time a DeCavalcante member was busted in New York?

And before someone says, "But aren't the FBI always right?," no, they're usually right and far and away the most consistent source of information on LCN.
All roads lead to New York.

Great find. Do you think those two guys know that Luigi was a real life Mafia member?

I’m watching the thing and the agent mentions passively that the fbi was trying to flip Stango to provide info on unsolved murders. Any unsolved decav murders out there ?

He also mentions he had more stuff to get more people arrested but for some reason never happened

Also mentions it was a “significant blow” to the family. Lol all fringe players of a fringe organization

The only ones I can think of are the murders of Capo Jimmy Rotondo in 1988 and of construction company owner Vincent Sorce from around the same time. All the other ones I can think of from the 1980s and 90s were cleared when Palermo, Rotondo and Anthony Capo flipped. They could have been interested in earlier murders or murders committed by other families in the area.

He also mentioned there where still zips among the Decavs but I think he referred to them as “leftovers” from back in the day so idk

Also some of the questions where awful like some dude asked how they could catch the taliban generals

Overall I’m pretty disappointed no relatively new info or anything

A few like Frank Guarraci and Francesco Gatto have died since then.

Many of the zips Felice listed years ago returned to Sicily. Those were Sicilian mafia members/associates, not the guys who transferred into the DeCavalcantes.

I just found out Joe Merlo went to Ribera and Palermo a few years ago.

The undercover agent made it sound like the Ribera Club is still a hub for mafia activity. He even said someone wanted him to go to the Ribera Club to make a drug deal which surprised me.

Just thought of something... if the Gambinos banned the DeCavalcantes from making more NYC members, it must have been lifted by the 2000s when Frank D'Amato was made.

In the two appearances he made on the Philly Prime Podcast he briefly mentions that the family still has a NY faction.

He also says they were looking to open the books in November 2015 and were looking to make Stango the underboss (which contradicts what's in the book about Merlo staying on as number two and Stango staying a captain).

When talking about how the different families interract, he mentions how the DeCavalcantes were under the Gambinos, if they needed anything in Philadelphia they could get it in an hour, and about how Stango still had contacts in Chicago.

I actually thought it was really good

I didn’t know this kid was running a crew and selling drugs , I didnt know LE could do that lol

The hit order seems legit

Stango seems to have a lot going in , all early stages since he got out of prison but he seemed capable of putting things together if he had time. Seems like a legit well liked gangster but still didn’t understand the phone part I guess

I wonder what’s going on in Las Vegas.
