All of a sudden the Ndrangheta is taking tons of heat, maybe there short lived place as the #1 is coming to an end.

How many of these guys will turn into pentiti? Does anyone think they got the guts or network like Riina to damage the State, or are they just going to go the same route as the Americans and rat , as well as bow down to other OC groups, like they have down in Canada?

An arrest of this magnitude must have undercover surveillance or rats helping in this investigation IMO

'ndrangheta in Australia is huge, I am curious to see who was arrested. As the first link shared by calabrianwatch says, it is reminiscent of the Blitz operated last summer between France, Italy and other countries.

About the Commissos in Australia, a few years ago, the Italian authorities discovered that the former mayor of Sterling (a suburb of Perth) Tony Vallelonga had ties to Giuseppe "U Mastru" Commisso. The cops reportedly recorded conversations between the two. I'm not sure who is in charge of the 'ndrina Siderno there, but I think I've already read the name "John Commisso" somewhere (info to be confirmed)

One thing is certain is that the 'ndrine Sergi, Barbaro, Trimboli, Carbone, Romeo & Madafferi are very widely present in Australia

The Vallelonga case indeed is puzzling. Australia did not grant extradition, but the interceptions were very clear. I am not aware of a John (Giovanni) Commisso in Western Australia but Siderno group there is managed by a number of families, similarly to Ontario with a variety of well known surnames including Commisso. There is no 'head' of Siderno there because Siderno is not the main clan. Indeed, the main clans are Barbaro-Sergi, they are the Crimine of Australia.
