Can he be exaggerating? Sure. But some of the stuff hes said seem pretty genuine. Maybe I gravitated towards his show opposed to alite or sammys because it was around my era of being in the area. I remember vividly as a kid hearing about someone getting stabbed inside the Vegas diner on 86th st. Than decades later hearing about it on inside the mob show.
I gotta say tho pennisi does give alot of insight on modern day OC but i question if he really had that type of pull knowing all these heavy hitters from all different families. Prior to a year and a half - 2 years, I never heard of the guy but that's just me. When did he do his longest prison stretch?

I thought the Sitdown news where he was talking about Sal Ruggiero and George Sciascia sounded straight from Wiki...theres no way he knew either of them personally

I dont think he's pretending to, he's clearly using other sources to give context to his story.

He thought Tommy Lucchese started the Lucchese family and LaVecchia had to fill him in about Gagliano and Reina. That kind of thing gives Pennisi credibility in my eyes... he has no business knowing the history of family bosses and it shows he hasn't read up on it much. He's read up on other things, but I appreciate that he doesn't just memorize the Lucchese wikipedia and pretend it's his own knowledge. Even when Casso comes up he makes it clear he wasn't there and doesn't know anything firsthand.
Funny how much of the show boils down to girl drama... there's Joe Amato going to great lengths to stalk his girlfriend and Pennisi says Amato brought her up constantly. Pennisi's biggest problem during his short time in the mafia revolved around everyone having their eyes on his girlfriend. I think this is a problem as old as time.

The Genovese are the least known about. Remember they are “aliens”Chris Christie wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 8:27 pm If someone wants to hate on Pennisi, one could make the argument that he left the life because he got cucked. Pretty much it.
I like him, I haven't caught him in a lie. Like I said, the more these guys talk the more they will trip themselves up. So far I haven't seen Pennisi lie about anything. He's a source of info on the modern Luccheses which is likely the least known about NY Family so I'm glad he's doing what he's doing and I'm glad he has Tom interviewing him because he's an interviewer coming from a place of general mob knowledge which is very rare.
If people think they can do better then get in the ring.

The more I listen to him and his co host.. the more I’m starting to believe that pennisi has totally been downplaying a ton of his involvement when he was in the life... cause like you said he seemed like he made 0 dollars, had nothing going on, yet seemed to mingle with a ton of people... I’m starting to think he had shit going on and probably acts like a paranoid over cautious brokester now cause he doesn’t want the feds to start looking into shit like his earning, if he was bragging about how much. Money he made and all this stuff on the podcasts that could come back to bite him in the ass with taxes, irs shit.. I almost feel like he must have like a few shoe boxes full of money on the sneak or some shit... cause like you said makes no sense why he would have ever been made if he was really like he claims he was on the street.. I mean he literally claims he had like 2 gamblers under him on a half sheet and did a couple loans.. there’s no way...Ryan98366 wrote: ↑Sat May 22, 2021 8:17 pm Tim Tebow was big star in college.
However, he was a world class flop in the NFL. He couldn't complete a pass, was a big bust and was a disaster.
John Pennisi is no different. He had no reason to be made. Had no rackets. Never did a murder. Couldn't complete any task his caporegime gave him. He was made because he's Italian heritage and he did time in prison.
Pennisi accomplished nothing in La Cosa Nostra. He never did a murder. He never made any money. He worked a 9-5 job like a su ker. Then...he flips for no reason. No indictment. No arrest. His reason: He felt someone might kill him. Hello! Who would want to kill a brokester with no crew, no street crew and no money. He's delusional. No one would want to kill you Pennisi! You are a compete loser and not worth going to prison for.
Now Queen Pennisi is everywhere. Interviews, podcasts and blogs.
Why exactly should we care? Same reason we care about Tim Tebow.
I'm tired of talking about Mr. Do Nothing Tim Tebow and Mr. Do Nothing John Pennisi.
Pennisi isn't fit to shine John Alite or Bob Luisi's shoes. Pennisi is a BUM.

He'd brag about the money he made, just like he bragged about being the future of the family, that set up he has for his videos is embarrassing, such low quality, no way he made money.

And also conveniently forgets to mention in his quest for accolades and sympathy and "positive" comments that he punched this woman in the face and knocked out all her teeth.JohnnySalami wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 6:23 amWonder what his wife thinks. Or the fact, through his own words, a control freak. Who looks through someone's phone and does the other things he did to this girl as he, himself described?
In addition, you're listening to gossip - one side of the story. Nobody knows if this really happened as it's his word against the wind because no one else involved in that story can say anything. But here's some proof about what he did do. And I do believe there might be more in Giovenco's trial documents. So if he's trying to bare his soul ---- why not admit this? I do believe one of them used the word transparency and neither of them is being very transparent.
So congratulate yourselves on calling a woman a "whore" without knowing the truth about it. And also check on your buddy Tom and see what kind of snake oil he's selling you. Go ask him what he did last year and see what kind of answer he gives you.
I'll be more than happy to post those public documents as well.
