Current Bonanno situation??

Post by JeremyTheJew »

So what do we know about the current Bonannos???

I was reading lcn.blogspot and cammarano was saying how bad it was under palazzolo. That it almost came to violence.

Well now he's back and mancuso is out also.

https://lcnbios.blogspot.com/2019/08/bo ... 2010s.html

Very surprised nothing has come up with cammarano et al being shelved.... 2 capos and 2 soldiers?? All Important players too if I remembered right

I just remember reading that Mancuso may have shelved these guys for the defense strategy that they opted for. I understand that La Cosa Nostra has historically had a complex relationships with court proceedings, with it evolving from never admitting the existence of "this thing" to copping pleas. But shelving guys for an effective defense strategy because you think it makes the administration look bad seems really dumb to me.

I think the mass shelving had more to do with Cammarano trying to usurp the authority of Mancuso when he was in prison.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Yes that was the reason that we were given.... But that just sounds absolutely rediculous.

I can't remember if anything devastating was even said in that case.... Like if they had recordings of them talking bad about mancuso.

Bc I believe that's why they were demoted.... The instability they looked like or whatever.... It's stupid.

I just pointed this out in another thread .. the Bonannos have basically had a inhouse war since the castelmarese war.

Banana war - Sicilian/pizza connection with Galante - 3 capos conflict - Bonanno break off from Canada - now this

Cammarano was elected by the capos right? The tension between the family almost spilled into violence so I don’t think Mancuso put him in, just waited until he was out to shelve him.

Bonanno also had his first two consiglieri killed in the 30s and 40s.

That would make a lot more sense than shelving guys because it makes it look like he changes consigliere too often haha.

It’s often not just one thing that would get a guy killed back in the day. Or in present time, get someone shelved. Usually ends up being an accumulation of violations with the last one “breaking the camels back”.

There was a vote held by all the captains and Joe C was voted in. Mancuso gave the ok.

From everything I've read, the other families were not happy with the Bonannos. We know the story of Johnny Joe Jr making himself the street boss or acting underboss then inducting a bunch of guys without permission from the other families. This seemed to have caused a lot of tension and Mancuso is rumored to not be liked by the Genovese, the Luccheses refused to acknowledge him as boss and of course Madonna reportedly tried to have him killed. Mancuso had nobody else to put in as acting boss, I guess Vinny TV could've been the choice then since later on Mancuso sent messages to Badalamenti to take back control of the family and he was the reputed consigliere of the Mancuso faction but I think at that time of the vote he was still on paper and had a heart attack not long before. Pennisi says Cammarano jr was a great boss and he eased the tension with the Luccheses and handed over lists of the guys Spirito jr inducted.

The family began to split because Cammarano jr tried to take over as the official boss or others that supported Joe C tried to at least push that idea. I've said this before, I personally would be surprised if Cammarano Jr went away quietly. He clearly had a good backing from many in the family and outside it. I wouldn't be surprised if there's been a lot of drama we dont know about yet I guess there always is with the Bonannos. :D

Didn't it come out that Cammarano was lending out money to members, and didn't make them pay the interest? I think JD posted something like that in his blog. No wonder they wanted him to be the boss.

He said it in a podcast from a few months ago. There was a sit down, Cammarano jr handed over all the names and reintroduced Spirito jr to everybody there as a friend then according to Lovaglio, Joe C shelved him for bringing 'fake messages' to and from Mancuso.
