I would post a link but i know 1) most of you know how to get to the site and 2) it will probably be blocked in some way.
Anyways, he was in on the Yaras hit? Who else?
A few questions- why and how was him and Rainone so close? Did he have any other family in the business?
Was he associated with Michael Caracci?

While Pettit was a Taylor/Cicero crew guy, he operated up on the Northside and Rainone was a Northside guy. So I imagine that at the least was the connection.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 3:57 am I would post a link but i know 1) most of you know how to get to the site and 2) it will probably be blocked in some way.

I had always thought he was an Elmwood Park/Grand Avenue guy. I didn't think he was a Cicero guy. The CCC record that says he was made put him with EPPolackTony wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 5:06 pmWhile Pettit was a Taylor/Cicero crew guy, he operated up on the Northside and Rainone was a Northside guy. Yeah, I think you might be right about that. I’ve seen some conflicting info. I believe that Pettit grew up by Taylor but then was likely made into the EP crew. Maybe he was a soldier with Cicero before he was made, or he transferred at some point? It’s also possible that even if he was under EP he was partnered with Cicero, as I’ve seen accounts linking him to Ferriola’s gambling ops.Snakes wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 7:36 pmI had always thought he was an Elmwood Park/Grand Avenue guy. I should also note that the CCC is the only source I've ever seen identify him as made. Not that it isn't possible he was, but I am still digging through FBI files from the early and mid-90s so hopefully some more info pops up on him and others about when or if they were made, although it's slow going. Hopefully things pick up now that we are on the downswing of this covid mess.PolackTony wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 9:03 pmYeah, I think you might be right about that. I’ve seen some conflicting info. That’s good to know. I had thought that Larry Pettit was a made guy, but if the CCC is the only source so far on that then it makes sense to be careful about it.Snakes wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 9:27 pmI should also note that the CCC is the only source I've ever seen identify him as made. Re: New Gangster report Larry Pettit passed away
Just because it came to mind, Larry Pettit was probably related to some old prohibition era gangsters around Taylor St:

Yeah those were some old and tough Grand Av guys or should I say members/associates of the former Northwest Mafia...PolackTony wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 9:34 pm Just because it came to mind, Larry Pettit was probably related to some old prohibition era gangsters around Taylor St:
