He’s doing life plus 10 years.
Re: Taccettas, and Martin doing life?
Marty was let out for a few yrs about 10yrs ago on pending an appeal or something about his lawyer not doing a good job explaining the plea was a better deal.. Its was overturned and he was sent back to State prison for Life plus 10yrs. Tommy has been out of prison for a longtime now. Supposedly lives in FL. Not sure what happened to his younger brother Bo that flipped too. He was involved with the mom whos son lit the fire at the college that got Tommy to reach out to the feds so he could rat and get out of the 10yr plea deal he had.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:38 am Is Martin Taccetta doing life or is he out based on Ricciardi flipping on the feds after flipping on his oath?

Re: Taccettas, and Martin doing life?
In 1993 before he was acquitted of the Craporotta murder (Ricciardi said Taccetta wasn't involved) he was offered a plea deal of 20 years (the murder charge I believe would have been reduced to manslaughter) with parole at 8 or 10 years. He didn't take the deal and ended up getting life plus 10 which included a racketeering (illegal gambling) and extortion charge. He later appealed on ineffective counsel because the lawyer he had the time didn't explain the plea deal properly. That lawyer also submitted an affidavit stating that he didn't explain it properly because if he did then Taccetta would have taken the deal.
Taccetta's second appeal was granted in 2002 but reversed in 2009 because the court said that he would be committing perjury if he had accepted a plea deal in which he would have pleaded guilty when he was innocent of the murder.
So he's basically sitting in jail on a life sentence for illegal gambling and extortion - which is ridiculous.

I was reading something w/ someone and came across something about operation heat and came across a few things. Anybody who says the judicial system is fair and impartial needs their head examined.mafiastudent wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 12:54 pm In 1993 before he was acquitted of the Craporotta murder (Ricciardi said Taccetta wasn't involved) he was offered a plea deal of 20 years (the murder charge I believe would have been reduced to manslaughter) with parole at 8 or 10 years. Operation Heat was the gambling bust with Madonna, DiNapoli and others. I think Tacetta got 8 years on that one - concurrent with his life sentence. Madonna was in jail for that and was about to be paroled when that 2017 indictment came down.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 1:39 pmI was reading something w/ someone and came across something about operation heat and came across a few things. There is no such thing as fair and impartial in the judicial system. It's guilty until proven innocent.
Re: Taccettas, and Martin doing life?
Always thought it was crazy Ricciardi killed a guy with a golf club, super gnarly
Re: Taccettas, and Martin doing life?
We know that Tommy was there during the Golf Club beating. But witnesses have said there were either 2 or 3 guys there. Tommy cooperated. Yet not a peep as to who the other people were with him that day...and non were charged with murder? Doesn't that strike you as odd? Were the people with him his brothers? Deal he have a deal with the state/feds that they wouldn't indict anyone else who was there that day? People have mentioned Marty There and Michael Ryan...yet they wouldn't let Marty plead guilty to it...Michael Ryan was never charged? That murder and the details of it have always remained a gray area. Also the murder of John Redman. Tommy supposedly murdered him in his Toms River home and his torso was found alongside a golf course in Farmingdale NJ.mafiastudent wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 12:54 pm In 1993 before he was acquitted of the Craporotta murder (Ricciardi said Taccetta wasn't involved) he was offered a plea deal of 20 years (the murder charge I believe would have been reduced to manslaughter) with parole at 8 or 10 years. Re: Taccettas, and Martin doing life?
There was an FBI document that he got through FOIPA that proved he wasn't involved in the Craporotta murder. It wasn't fake though I can't remember specifically if it was the judge or prosecutor who said maybe it was fake and then the newspapers picked that up without proof. But stuff like that has happened before - most recently with Joseph DiNapoli when he was trying to get compassionate release - and the judge questioned whether the signature on his medical documentation was real - a random statement for no reason and without proof as she denied him in that same hearing.West Coast1 wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 8:21 pmMeaning Bo Bo? as the brotherRocco wrote: ↑Thu May 13, 2021 11:54 amMarty was let out for a few yrs about 10yrs ago on pending an appeal or something about his lawyer not doing a good job explaining the plea was a better deal.. Taccetta went back because of what I described above. The entire case is completely convoluted and he shouldn't be sitting in jail right now - especially on a gambling and extortion charge.
Re: Taccettas, and Martin doing life?
He went back on his deal with the feds. The feds told him to say one thing and he said something else.West Coast1 wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 8:25 pmWhat do you mean flipping on the feds?Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 6:38 am Is Martin Taccetta doing life or is he out based on Ricciardi flipping on the feds after flipping on his oath?
