Whatever happened there? Whatever happened there?

I remember reading that Michael Spilotro was also in an episode of Miami Vice.could never find which one to look for him.
An everlasting shame is that we never got to see Spilotro acting alongside the late great Dennis Farina. Throw in Joe Mantegna, and it could've been a Chicago Dago triumvirate that would've changed popular culture as we know it lol.

Farina was former CPD and very close to the notoriously mobbed-up Bill Hanhardt (half-Sicilian himself, who grew up in the same old Near North Side "Little Sicily" area as Farina). Outfit associate turned informant Red Wemette has claimed that Farina falsified testimony to a Grand Jury alongside Hanhardt to put away Outfit-connected master burglar Peanuts Panczko (yet another example of an honest Polack being shafted by the Machine).

Ironically enough Farina was also in a few episodes of Miami Vice (playing a mob boss of course).

I honestly don't know how Farina wasn't cast in Casino. He shoulda played every character lol.

If anyone ever wonders what some random Outfit guy sounded like, this clip should do the trick.
Nice
Dennis Farina was Chicago's answer to Frank Vincent lol.
Lol wasnt there a weapon charge or something back in the days?
Not sure, but if he was rollin' with Hanhardt, who knows what he was involved with.

Dennis Farina performance in "Get Shorty" is one of the all time great scene stealing/star making performances in Hollywood history. He's one actor I truly miss.

There was a Gang Land article a while ago about how one of Phil Leonardo's top guys (not Butchie or the guy that gets killed in the restaurant or Fat Dom) was a Genovese associate. John Ciarcia

Yes, Hanhardt served as “technical advisor” to the Cana movie “Thief”, and also played a bit part in the TV series “Crime Story” alongside his boy Farina. Given that Hanhardt basically ended up as a Grand Ave crew associate, I think he merits being a “monster turned actor”.

Also, Frank Cullotta, of course, served as an “advisor” and played a bit part in Casino.

Johnny Cha-Cha the King of Coney Island aka the Mayor of Little Italy, depending on where he was at the moment of course.

He may have been with the Genovese but he had friends from all the families.

I recall that Tony “Darrow” Borgese was popped for hiring some Gambino goons to collect a debt for him.

I thought that Dan Grimaldi also had at least some family connections (though Grimaldi himself was a Math professor at CUNY-Kingsborough CC).

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

That's funny I had no idea and I went to K by the Bay for a couple semesters way back when.

The only college in NYC with its own private beach

I think that at some point Grimaldi came to court in a show of support to some wiseguy, either a relative or in-law. Spacing on the details ATM.

To hear him tell it, if Cullotta hadn’t intervened guys like Frank Vincent woulda been running around calling everyone “jerk offs”.

Cullotta was the kinda old school Chicago goomba where you could hear the beef sandwich gravy dripping from his fingers when he talked.

Not sure why the article has Joe Pitts listed as a Decavalcante capo. Pretty sure that's not right.

My understanding was that Joe Pitts Conigliaro was a made guy in the Gambinos, who used to pal around with DeCav soldier Jimmy Gallo?
