Not the biggest DeCavalcante researcher so don't know whether this has come out before at some point over the course of the investigation, but the book also has Manny Riggi as Oliveri's captain (as well as considering killing Riggi in addition to Oliveri).

So for that 2015 period the confirmed structure is something like:

John Riggi (Boss)
"Horse" (Acting Boss)
Joe Merlo (Street Boss)
Frank Nigro (Consigliere)
Charles Majuri (Capo)
Manny Riggi (Capo)
Charles Stango (Capo)

Joseph Collina is also indentified as a Capo. Manny Riggi would be the "Big Head" identified in the indictment. Unfortunately he doesn't identify 'Horse'.


Another interesting tidbit is that he says the FBI had an informant inside the Ribera club.


Disappointing that he uses fictitious names for guys. I don't don't know why he did it. It can't be because they weren't charged in the case because he uses the real names of other guys who weren't charged in this case like Nick Milano, Collina, Carl Corsentino, Joseph Sclafani, etc. Strange that that he only identifies the Consigliere as 'Shipe' even though Frank Nigro was charged in the case. I don't think Pistone or Garcia used fictitious names in their books.

I am really looking forward to reading the DeCav book this summer on the beach here at the Jersey Shore.

I’m particularly interested in how accurately they describe Whitey and his retard brokester crew as I’m pretty familiar with them from the clubs here at the shore back in the day and through mutual acquaintances.

I’m also curious if they will disclose which bar they met up at in Toms River with the undercover FBI Agent when those idiots “worked out” the details of the planned brothel they wanted to open up in Toms River that was mentioned in the Indictment that they never got off the ground (hahaha) when this all went down back in March 2015. Hopefully it’s a good read....

Yeah you can use the search function on the side to find references and passages in the book. Not just the samples but the whole book. All in all I have to say it is a big disappointment. I was hoping it would identify some new DeCavalcante Capos and Soldiers but barely any DeCavalcantes are mentioned.


The only new info on unknown Capos were Manny Riggi (he is only mentioned once as Oliveir's Capo) and Majuri. We already knew about Collina and he is only referenced once.


He only mentions Sclafani and Carl Corsentino that one time (meeting them at a social event). James "Jimmy Dirt" Castaldi is mentioned briefly (possibly as a member of Stango's Crew, unclear from the passage). No others Soldiers are mentioned. Barely any associates are mentioned either. Many that were indicted in this case are not even referenced.


He doesn't ID "Horse" and only mentions "Milk" a few times and the Consigliere only twice (only by his nickname 'Shipe').


No new DeCavacante members are identified and really no real new information. Combine that with the fictions names for the Gambino guys and it is a big letdown.

Luigi over to the house and escorted him into the old man's room. Riggi went through the ceremony right then and there, transforming Luigi Oliveri from an associate to a made member in the DeCav family. Apart from the boss's son,
there had been no witnesses from the family, which meant it was a completely irregular procedure. For all anyone knew, it hadn't even been a traditional ceremony—pricking the candidate's finger, dropping his blood ...

Despite being a Capo it sounds like Collina was broke.
