Nobody approached Gotti and said, "You're going to pay us X amount every month." According to court testimony of an AB guy, Gotti was supposed to find an attorney for AB leader Barry Mills. For whatever reason, Gotti didn't follow through with this and Mills ordered the AB to withdraw their protection. This was in 1994.
But it wasn't until 1996 that Gotti was attacked by Johnson. Would Johnson have attacked Gotti if he knew the AB was still protecting him? Maybe, maybe not. Gotti then offered to pay the AB to kill Johnson, which they supposedly accepted. But they didn't seem to be in too much of a hurry because Johnson was paroled in 2001 and ended up killing a cop a short time later. It seems to me Johnson was simply a nut who would have attacked anyone, no matter who they were or who's protection they were under.

Salvatore Gravano never goes on about the rest of the people he sent to prison for the rest of their lives. He always tries to justify being a rat. He is full of shit. Every locked-up mobster facing life is mad at his boss on some level. And the oath of Omerta was not taken with there being exceptions, like you have to be quiet UNLESS you get pissed off at your boss and can make a case for why it's his fault. John Gotti running his mouth and there being a bug in the room is not on the same planet as talking to the feds directly. Not even close. At the end of the day Gravano did it to save his own skin. He always makes it sound like the only person be put in prison was Gotti what about all the other guys he ratted on? Was there a reason for that to? In my country https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Macedonia the worse thing you could be is a rat. Rats make me sick.Extortion wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 10:15 pmSammy is a tough guy. I wouldn’t use the tough stand up guy label for someone who snitched on all of his friends and associates, but that’s just me. He killed 19 guys, including an innocent teenager, his own brother in law and some of his good friends from childhood, and then sent dozens of guys to prison to avoid facing responsibility for his actions. That is the truth. He is not a stand up guy.Extortion wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 10:15 pmSammy is a tough guy. Everything he earned. He killed someone to get it.
Re: Sammy claims Watts an informant
I meant before he cooperated and most of those 19 guys were hits from Castellano the Colombo family I am unaware of this innocent teenager though can you explain that?Nick Prango wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 11:08 pmI wouldn’t use the tough stand up guy label for someone who snitched on all of his friends and associates, but that’s just me. I’m not justifying his cooperation I was just saying that he was a tough guy there’s no question about that and up until he cooperated I would say he was a standup guy because at the end of the day he is still a rat but if you were in the situation what would you doNick Prango wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 10:58 pmSalvatore Gravano never goes on about the rest of the people he sent to prison for the rest of their lives. And also this was 1990 and CosaNostra it was sort of in a decline after the commission case so people started seeing the writing on the wall but if it was 1970 and he cooperated I would certainly think much less of him and that he shouldn’t rat because the life was still golden and meant something

Re: Sammy claims Watts an informant
That is truly a sad story, as a parent I could not imagine the trauma of losing a child especially in a violent ends to an innocent one. The US government should be ashamed for pampering a child killer. They are therefore complicit in my eyes for not allowing Salvatore Gravano brought to justice. Gravano always conveniently leaves this one out when he speaks of his life of crime. Hard to come off as tough when you murder someone innocent, in particular a kid. There have been many LCN guys who have turned rat in the past four decades (primarily since the early 1980s with the advent of the Rico laws). And admittedly, there have ALWAYS been certain guys who ratted undercover (Lombardozzi, Scarpa, etc), dating back many decades to the 50s, 40s, and earlier. But they were a distinct rarity compared to the huge volume of wiseguys out there operating.Extortion wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 1:22 amI meant before he cooperated and most of those 19 guys were hits from Castellano the Colombo family I am unaware of this innocent teenager though can you explain that?Nick Prango wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 11:08 pmI wouldn’t use the tough stand up guy label for someone who snitched on all of his friends and associates, but that’s just me. But even today, the VAST majority of Italian American LCN made men and associates, stood up. The overwhelming majority of present day made guys and associates are not rats. In my book they are stand up guys. Not Salvatore the rat Gravano.

For what it is worth , I do know someone who did almost 14 years and was released early 2000”s and he had said to me that JW was a rat and that JW name is all over his file .
Re: Sammy claims Watts an informant
Now this statement corroborated with the previous first rate research aforementioned in this thread makes it more convincing.Manhattan_ wrote: ↑Mon Mar 15, 2021 2:42 am For what it is worth , I do know someone who did almost 14 years and was released early 2000”s and he had said to me that JW was a rat and that JW name is all over his file .
