Re: Fifteen Philadelphia Family Members and Associates Indicted
But how is that possible with most pro and college sports shut down for most of the year?

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

People were starving for something to bet on and blew it up once everything started again. October/November you had everything going on, like Cheech said.

New Jersey has taken the reigns as the top state for sports betting, taking in $6 billion in wagers last year. While according to state data approximately 80 percent of its wagers are made online, even its casinos got to cash in on the action. The Borgata, which shut down for four months during the pandemic, wrote about 20 to 30 percent more business last year compared to being open all of 2019, according to Borgata director of racing and sports Tom Gable.

Gamblers gonna gamble. We'll find a way no matter what, even if it comes down the proverbial "betting on two cockroaches climbing the wall."
Online webcam blackjack sucks ass by the way haha. I tried it when the physical casinos were shut down here last year. Goes waaay too slow and they only go halfway through the shoe which negates my card counting antics. Though the Eastern European broads they use as dealers are hot.

Video blackjack where it's like a video game instead of actual cards, right? I never play that because the deck is reshuffled after every hand, which makes insane variance (dealer getting three blackjacks in a row, losing 10+ hands in a row, etc.) much more likely. So if for example there's a bunch of bad hands in a row it won't "improve" because all the "bad" cards have been used up. It's fun for entertainment but if you're serious about winning money don't play it.Snakes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:05 amA lot of online sportsbooks have video blackjack (as opposed to webcam); Boavada does, I know.Ivan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 10:31 amHell the plague didn't even stop me from going to physical casinos here in sunny Las Vegas to play blackjack many many times since everything started.Cheech wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 9:53 amCollege wasnt shut down most of year. Also would be very easy to rig. That's super illegal in Las Vegas (and presumably in New Jersey; it has to be totally random and driven by a random number generator and if it's not and your machines get caught you can kiss your gaming license goodbye) but I could see a casino based outside the USA doing it.
Though there's actually a very cool video blackjack "training" game that simulates a deck/shoe being used up at Wizard of Odds: https://wizardofodds.com/play/blackjack-v2/
If you guys know of a legit video blackjack game for money that also simulates a deck being used up (for example, once the ace of spades is played it's gone for good until the cards are shuffled) instead of shuffling after every hand, do let me know.

Yeah, Bovada's is limitless decks. For example, there could be four Kings of the same suit on the table in just one hand. Definitely cannot count cards but I feel like even the in-person games use enough decks where it can be difficult to do so.Ivan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:19 amVideo blackjack where it's like a video game instead of actual cards, right? They use eight decks at the in-person webcam games I played (I've only had luck counting cards up to six decks; any more than that and it just doesn't seem to be effective enough to attempt). Even worse, they only go about halfway into the shoe, which just isn't deep enough for card counting to actually work. It might work a tiny bit, but not enough to bother with, and it just goes too slow to make decent money relative to the time investment. You'd be better off with a 9 to 5 job.
As far as limitless decks go, yikes. That gets a big NOPE from me. Most of the video blackjack games I know about aren't unlimited decks; rather, they have eight they shuffle together (so the four kings of the same suit thing you mentioned can and does happen) and they shuffle after every hand, which is bad enough, but unlimited decks would be an absolute nightmare of weird negative variance.
That "four kings of the same" suit thing can happen with real cards in a multi-deck shoe (if I'm doing the math right, the odds are about one in 280,000) but once it happens it won't happen again because those kings are gone, while in video blackjack that shuffles after every hand it could theoretically happen multiple times in one session.

Hahaha Cheech, I have barreled out of that parking lot drunk off my ass many a nights over the years!Cheech wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 9:56 am @dante I was just at fanduel yesterday cashing in a few tickets from the super bowl. ironically i ripped in half mistakenly but they paid me anyways. i had my card # so it was there that i had bet it.

I used to also hang out with the Owner’s daughter before he went bad and went into the witness protection program (Tony Lodi). Those were the days, I was 25 years old and living in Hoboken at the time. Yes, he had his own daughter working there as a barmaid that’s how we first met LOL . They actually got robbed at gunpoint by a masked man with a Shotgun shortly soon after Tony Lodi went bad and into the Witness Protection program. They never caught the robbers. Hmmmmm.......
I don’t know about nowadays as I have only been there once in the last three years, but back before Tony Lodi ratted the place was a hot bed of all kinds of gangsters hanging out in it- Russian Gangsters , High Ranking Black Gangsters, and of course LCN guys. Sometimes you would be there sitting there at the bar and see Russian Gangsters, a Bloods General, and LCN guys all sitting at the same bar as you scanned it with your eyes. It was crazy times, I think the Manager was even indicted once for running an LCN Bookmaking operation I think.
Did you go inside? Inside they haven’t changed a single thing and it’s literally like you stepped into an episode of The Sopranos at the Bada Bing!
The outside they remodeled I wanna say around the time Jimmy Gandolfini passed away so that sucks, it used to also be identical on the outside as the Bada Bing! on The Sopranos. The outdoor remodeling wasn't too drastic just the exterior when you walk up close to the building was changed, they added a brick exterior you will notice.
Funny story , when I was living up in Hoboken back around 07-08ish and the Nets were still playing in Jersey at The Meadowlands my boys and I would always meet up at Satin Dolls to pregame before we went to the NJ Nets game. This one Sunday afternoon we meet up there before a Nets game and we’re the only ones in there besides the girls dancing and barmaids.
Low and behold, The Sopranos Location Tour Bus pulls into the parking lot and in walks a gigantic bus load of mostly European tourists with cameras around their necks and Fanny packs around their waists. They start pointing at us and taking pictures of me and my boys gawking at us in their native European tongues like we’re on display or something as we shove wads of US Currency down Latina and Eastern European dancers panties while they shake their cervixes inches from our faces.
You can now say that I know exactly how zoo animals who are on display for tourist’s entertainment feel LOL.

That's interesting; I always figured the video blackjack just reshuffled after every hand and every single card was randomly selected from a deck of 52 cards. So you can get those 4 Kc every hand but I've never really paid attention to it. I knew a guy who won 2 grand on blackjack on 5Dimes and they refused to honor it. I imagine somewhere like Bovada would be a little less shady.Ivan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:37 amThey use eight decks at the in-person webcam games I played (I've only had luck counting cards up to six decks; any more than that and it just doesn't seem to be effective enough to attempt). There are video blackjack games that just pick cards randomly from one deck and they're advertised specifically as "single deck".Snakes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 10, 2021 11:53 am

Bovada for example offers "single deck" in its lineup but it's still shuffled after every hand. You can safely assume that the ones that aren't labeled as "single deck" have six to eight decks.
https://www.bovada.lv/casino/blackjack- ... rlay=login
No way in hell would an online casino offer single deck from a real physical deck without shuffling after every hand. Might as well tell card counters "please come rob us blind." Even the single-deck physical real cards game at El Cortes casino (Bugsy's place lol) here in Las Vegas shuffles after every two rounds (and it's boring as fuck, all you mostly do is watch the dealer shuffle).
