who does nick corozzo ,dan marino, and gene gotti throw there weight to? i mean anyone of those 3 could get it. old age aside. joe bidden became president of the free world at 78 so age isnt a factor. what if peter gotti named a successor like carlo gambino did on his death bed.....

Pete Gotti hasn't been naming anyone anything for the past 10+ years

He was boss in name only he had no real power. The power has been with the Sicilians and Gene Gotti is in good standing with them. Corozzo and Marino most likely are too.

So, do we assume at some point maybe in the 60s-70s Pete was involved in a hit? I don't think there's any mention of him involved in one in the late 70s-80s. But the early to mid 70s and before, Fatico crew activities are a little hazy.

It looks like Pete lost whatever power he still held in running the Family when Jackie D'Amico was imprisoned. Per the Stefanelli Tapes

This.
You'd think Cefalu deserves it, 10 years in charge and no indictment, why would they want to change that, bet over on gangsterbb you've got people hearing from street sources that Gene Gotti is making a play

Mannino, as per MD.
How old is Mannino? Late 50's?
Too young Im thinking to be boss you'd think. It's not unprecedented, sure, but unlikely yes?
60 is too young to be boss? Not unlikely at all

He's going off who he thinks should be boss isn't he, just like when he said Cefalu was just a tough guy and cali should be boss, he was wrong about that, Cefalu clearly is a good leader

I would be surprised if it's not Mannino.

Bunch of guys with more seniority than Mannino. Cefalu, Paradiso, Corozzo, DiMaria.

all signs point to Mannino. Lets not forget felice's info as well about Cefalu wanting to step down but Cali didnt want the position.
Paradiso will serve alongside two powerful members of the family's Sicilian faction, Domenico (Italian Dom) Cefalu, 72, and Lorenzo Mannino, 60. Gang Land's sources waffle on the specific ranks of Cefalu, whom the FBI has carried as the family's acting boss since 2011, and Mannino, who has been identified by the feds in recent court filings only as a "powerful capo." Some law enforcers say Cefalu is still the boss, but others say Mannino is the real leader right now, even if he doesn't have the official title.
In 2011, Domenico, now 73, was named acting boss, a position that some sources say is now held by fellow Sicilian-faction wiseguy, Lorenzo Mannino.

Not to quibble but ALL signs DONT point to Mannino. "Some" sources said Mannino, "some" sources say Cefalu. It appears the speculation is quite even on both sides with LE. Not at all a clear point to Mannino.

Didn't John order his brothers and other Gambino members never take a plea?

Yeah but that rule had fallen out a few years earlier and by the time Peter was offered a plea he was the Boss and
John was dead.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Despite his status, he's still very much connected with that world. A day after Cali was killed he said it was a personal beef while the NYTimes days later published: "A Gotti was released from prison, 6 months later a boss is killed." Reporters were camped outside of Gene Gotti's house for days. MD knew the facts the day after it happened.

I think, and you can take it or leave it, that there's "no hard feelings" since the Sicilians didn't hold the Gottis in high regard. He's not going to be told the ongoings and who holds what, but he didn't make capo by being ignorant. Also, consider that PG's death doesn't change much except for some official and acting formalities. He's spoken highly of Mannino in the past.
