Who's the current boss of Colombo Family?
I was reading Q&A with Gene Borello and he said something like ''Colombos don't even have a boss'', I can not recall the exact sentence at the moment.
I know they are small family compare to other 4 families but I would never guessed that they don't have a boss, never crossed my mind. If they don't have a boss right now, they are basically a street gang, right? I'm sure they will disappear in a decade unless a miracle happens. I doubt they will interfere with other families because why would a boss wants a guy they don't know in his family ?
BTW: Is there a current chart of Colombos?

They most likely have a boss or a group of people sitting on a panel. It's a miracle they are still around after Persico's long reign, though. Pogo keeps an updated chart based on the latest official info we have access to. viewtopic.php?f=32&t=36

Capeci said Teddy Persico and Joel Cacace are contenders for official boss, mush is acting boss.
Re: Who's the current boss of Colombo Family?
Do t underestimate the perseverance of these guys. Who would imagine they would have survived the 3rd Colombo war, its fallout, and the major IOC crackdown that came a decade later when they barely had a chance to recover. Yet in the last 10 years we have seen they are still definitely a viable entity, bigger than most families outside of New York, even if they are smaller in comparison with the other 5 families
Re: Who's the current boss of Colombo Family?
that guy gene is basically just trolling for attention know. how would he know whose the colombo boss after carmine died. he flipped 5 6 years ago and was in the middle of a prison sentence before that.. he also was never a made guy. think i was reading penisi blog or his testimony he said 6 7 years ago the colombo had a guy named sally bread as acting boss. so he doesnt have a clue. i bet teddy persico becomes officail boss whenever he feels the freedom
Re: Who's the current boss of Colombo Family?
Thanks eboli. I was suprised at first when I saw the list because I've never thought they could have 40-50 soldiers but then I saw the ages of them and most of them are old, really old. I doubt +75 years olds are actice, though.eboli wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 7:58 am They most likely have a boss or a group of people sitting on a panel. People were saying the Colombos would be gone in a decade 30 years ago. It didn't happen then and it won't happen 10 years from now.Momo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 7:49 am I was reading Q&A with Gene Borello and he said something like ''Colombos don't even have a boss'', I can not recall the exact sentence at the moment.

If you look at the ages for all the families, 70's is prime age for a NY mob guy. The Genovese family probably has the oldest membership on average and that hasn't stopped them from being the strongest.Momo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 10:52 amThanks eboli. The Colombo’s aren’t going away anytime soon. IMO a lot of these lower level Colombo guys (soldiers, some associates) are pulling in a lot more money they you think. I know it’s just social media but I follow a bunch of Colombo guys kids from Brooklyn and every single one of them are driving brand new high end bmw and Benz. I was kinda of surprised when I saw this. Also they are going to Cali and Florida every fuckin month. They deff aren’t hurting by any means.
That’s the guy, Adriana. My Uncle Tony. The guy I’m going to hell for.

A good one to follow is Angelo Spata’s kid. Fuckin kid bad basically goes back and forth from Cali to Florida running his father and his rental company. They got private jets, any high end car you could imagine and millions dollar yachts. Kind of blows my mind if you really think about how much money these things cost.

Re: Who's the current boss of Colombo Family?
The recent Colombo bust had a bunch of 20 yr old wannabes I know that doesn’t represent general trends but it’s new blood. Granted half of the them where retards but they where making decent money themselves.

I’ve seen Gene say the Colombo’s were a joke but then in another interview he was asked who were the real bad guys when he was on the street and he admitted it was Big Dino and his guys in Brooklyn who were the most serious guys on the street at that time.
Re: Who's the current boss of Colombo Family?
And if he's referring to the mid-to-late 1990s, he's right. Last of the Mohicans for the Colombo family.Uncle Pete wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 5:17 pm I’ve seen Gene say the Colombo’s were a joke but then in another interview he was asked who were the real bad guys when he was on the street and he admitted it was Big Dino and his guys in Brooklyn who were the most serious guys on the street at that time.
No definitive info that I've come across regarding who was the family's acting boss or street boss from 2011-2020 - 2020 is when Jerry Capeci said Andy Russo was the family's acting boss, but that could just be an assumption of his part.
Andy Russo was the acting boss until his arrest in Jan. 2011, and it was Andy Mush - with the approval of cousins Carmine & Allie Persico - that orchestrated the succession plan of Donnie Montemarano and Tom Farese as acting underboss & acting consigliere respectively. Andy Russo, relaying messages from the Brooklyn MDC, created a succession plan to ensure his relatives and close friends remained at the top. The succession plan involving Montemarano and Farese was foiled by the FBI, but it wasn't the last proposed idea. Other ideas of ruling panels involving Reynold Maragni (pre-cooperation), Richie Fusco (prior to his death), and Ralph Lombardo were also floated around.
Meanwhile, Andy Mush served his two-year prison sentence in the Brooklyn MDC, most of the time in the company of at least 15 co-defendants from the Colombo family as well as dozens and dozens of wiseguys from other families to keep him company. He was able to keep a close ear to the streets, not to mention that his son William "Billy" Russo was an influential captain.

Not really a guess considering Capeci said he's pretty much next in line
Re: Who's the current boss of Colombo Family?
I dont doubt that Gene Borello has serious ties to the street, but a lot of what he says needs to be taken with a grain of salt simply due to the fact that he seems to have an axe to grind. Seems very bitter about what happened to him.
Also, fairly certain Pennisi described sally bread as an acting captain, not boss..though i could be mistaken.
