Patriarca Jr. and Frank Desimone

Post by brianwellbrock »

I got to wondering last night. When was Ray Jr. Made imto the family and what was his rank before 84? And also any other tidbits on his involvement prior to hos desth? One thing I have learned from all of you guys resesrch is that the mob has been a stickler for the "set" rules i.e. this aint the godfather where Ray Jr. Was a legit guy and just stepped up to carry on the legacy of his father even though he didnt want to.

So at some point he had to of gotten made and been doing something. A lot of the bosses from outside NY the research will haveyiu believe just poof one day theyre boss.

Same with Desimone, I know he had been involved in hits in the Cohen wars but what else? When Dragna died in 56 he had to of had at least some clout to be able to get the spot over Roselli.

Pretty sure Ray Junior was a Soldier. I'm sure he was aided in getting the top spot by the boston faction being gutted with the Anguilo's, Larry Zannino and Sammy Granito being busted.

I don't know much about his rise in the mob, but Desimone's relatives were powerful Sicilian mafiosi early on in the US and his father had been a boss. He was well-connected nationally. A lot of guys, especially in smaller families, have gone from soldier to administration or boss without much incident.

There really isn't much out there about Ray "Junior" Patriarca before he became boss.

Actually Pogo I think they were making him boss whether Boston liked it or not. At that time Providence still had enough names to keep the title there and they didn't want to give it up. Even if the Angiulo's were out I think they would have done the same thing. Other than having Zannino (can't remember if Granito was a staunch Angiulo supporter or not) the Angiulo's (mainly Jerry) didn't have the support to get the top spot.

Of course Providence never thought anyone would have went after Ray's son either like Russo and company did not long after that.
If I didn't have my case coming up, I would like to come back with you gentlemen when this is over with and really lay the law down what is going on in this country.....
