It is insane to think that he only spent about 25 years free, and about 3 of those went on the run.

He gunned down a man because insulted his sister in 1963 and took 24 y so went out in 1973 and went on the run but was suddendly cought again and after esscape from the mental asylum in 1979. In 1981 there was a meeting between the NCO,the NF and the sicilians and the deal would be: Cutolo could take the province of Naples and the other part of the Campania and the old clans should take Naples and more important stop the war and the heat on the clans. If Cutolo should choose a low key profile he would be out in 1987 or before but this wasn't in his nature.

THE PROFESSOR! Easily most interesting camorristi of the 20th century. Can anyone recommend any good books about him?

John Dickie’s Mafia Republic. He has multiple chapters on Cutolo, very good read.

Wild Bill was born in Basilicata a region near the Campania and wiki say they was relatives but I dont believe it. They had only the same surname.

But even so, he spent more than half his life in prison, what he did with Camorra was interesting, but man, he had almost no life.

The Movie The Professor (il Camorrista) is excellent, I recommend it, it is long, but very good.

There are a 4 hours version of the movie that should be aired in the berlusconi TV but was censored.

Berlusconi, the man who basically killed the Italian cinema ... I guess the same happened to the Pizza Connection movie (there is a 3h version)

Back to Cuttolo, crazy how many years he spent in prison, I thought the guy was already dead since a long time ...

Cutolo Jr mentioned on his podcast that Bill Sr told him they were related to this Raffaele, he was a distant cousin of Bill Sr. IIRC something about Billy Jr confronting his dad about some product pasta sauce or something that had the name Cutolo in it and whether they had a piece of it, Bill Sr said that was under his distant cousin Raffaele.

I didn't know there was a 4 hour version, I watched the 2 hour and 40 minute version, and I thought it was the greatest.
