no joke. the colombos recently have been making guys in prison which is weird because when allie boy wanted ralph deleo inducted he couldnt do it when they where cell mates in jail so why in the last decade there havs been 2 guys actualy inducted in jail. 1 was far larry sessa surposely by andy russo and ralph deleo made some guy vito guzzo in danbury. so bosses from the other familys are saying its ok... i bet that colombo associate whos doing life for killing a bunch of guys finally got inducted probaly recently forgot his name but he killed joe scopo and a few others at a really young age. i bet tuccio gets put under the wing of a colombo guy in prison and it wouldnt surprise if he got made.

Maybe because they still have influence on the outside ? Or the fact that they are already in jail and they haven't snitched or accepted a deal may be a proof of trust ? It's the only hypothesis for me, you can correct me if I'm wrong, i also find it weird.

I think merlino likes planting flags everywhere. I wouldn't doubt he has 3 or 5 made guys in the Miami area. Hes got guys in new England new Jersey. He lives in Florida he has to have a few guys there. Ny just another flag. Surprised if any boss in nyc let's him make a guy in that state...

Not to mention that Joey has a very feared reputation. I read that Philly guys would refer to him as Lucifer, and thats for good reason. Joey has allegedly committed/ assisted/ or ordered about a dozen homicides. Being on record with Joey definitely offers a lot of protection to whomever is under him.

I was always under the impression that Ligambi was official boss from 1999-2011 but who knew all along Joey was Official Boss and Uncle Joe was just a caretaker.

It makes sense though now that we have 20/20 hindsight vision. Ligambi got the nickname “Uncle Joe” because he was Georgie’s actual Uncle but also in a sense a sort of Uncle figure to all of Joeys crew. Plus Joeys Dad and Uncle Joe were as close as can be. Joeys Father was the one who brought Uncle Joe around and vouched for him. It makes complete sense now looking back.

You gotta give Joey credit where credit’s due for holding into a family as Official Boss during a 14 year bid were u were also tried again in Jersey for the Sodano hit were Chris Christie was seeking the death penalty.

It also seems like Uncle Joe didn’t have a walk in the park solidifying his position early in his term.

You had most of the Ligambi hits at the very beginning of his run (Turchi, Martorano, Gongs) and at the very beginning you wouldn’t see Ligambi go anywhere without the Salvo Brothers and/or Anthony Borgesi watching his back .

There’s the famous picture of Ligambi leaving court in a leather jacket being flanked by Anthony Borgesi and Dave Salvo in leather jackets as well holding the door open for him.

So what all this tells me is that even though Ligambi was only acting boss he still had to solidify his position and watch his back in the very beginning before he had that family running like a fine oiled machine on cruise control by the mid to late 2000s before he got indicted in 2011.
