I swear I wish I could go back in time and tell my younger self to go into the Unionized Public Sector here in Jersey.
Cadillac health benefits with minimal contributions into it, ridiculous OT, Easy work, guaranteed pay raises every year no matter what , and retirement after 20 years at 60% pension pay out for the rest of my life after I bloated my final three years of salary with OT.
Then take that 6 figure yearly pension on the tax payers backs and just go get another easy job at 42 years old. I’m a fucking idiot, the jokes on the tax payers here in Jersey.
No wonder my taxes are so fucking sky high through the roof , I got into the wrong business lol.

My sister in-laws a teacher here in Toronto. Same thing. Shes on around 130k (she does counselling etc) and is about to retire after 20 years on 80% salary, lets call it 115k aged 44, will go and substitute teach at private schools two/three days a week for $60k a year.
44 yrs old working two days a week on $175k a year.
Her husbands the same thing, a firey about to retire after 25yrs on full pension.
A household on $325-350K a year comprised of a retired high school teacher and a retired firefighter in their mid 40's.
The jokes on us.
Don't give me your f***ing Manson lamps.
