Turk is not in those transcripts and they are not describing the Action Jackson murder, they are discussing the Esposito attempted hit.Antiliar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:14 amLife magazine did a story on it with photos and transcripts (and yes, it was Fifi):PolackTony wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 11:54 pmUnless a lot of people have been mistaken, it was Fifi. JAMES TORELLO: Jackson was hung up on that meat hook. He was so heavy he bent it. He was on that thing three days before he croaked.
FRANK BUCCIERI (giggling): Jackie, you shoulda seen the guy. Like an elephant, he was, and when Jimmy hit him with that electric prod…
TORELLO (excitedly): He was floppin’ around on that hook, Jackie. We tossed water on him to give the prod a better charge, and he’s screamin’…
Over the years I've seen people claim that Cerone and Yaras were also among the group that participated in the Jackson killing. Doesn't seem likely, as why would Buccieri and Torello need to tell them about it then? I've also seen people state that Sam Destefano, Alderisio, and Cowboy Mirro participated as well.
What's the best info on who all most likely actually participated?

As I recall, Buccieri, Turk, Jackie Cerone, and Dave Yaras were in Miami to kill Esposito. While they were down there, Buccieri and Turk were captured on a wire describing the Jackson murder to Cerone.funkster wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 8:21 amTurk is not in those transcripts and they are not describing the Action Jackson murder, they are discussing the Esposito attempted hit.Antiliar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 1:14 amLife magazine did a story on it with photos and transcripts (and yes, it was Fifi):PolackTony wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 11:54 pmUnless a lot of people have been mistaken, it was Fifi. I mean it's certainly possible, it's been a long time since i've read the full wiretap transcripts from the Miami excursion. All i know is that that snippet is the one i remember most about the AJ wiretap and it was always labeled that way.Snakes wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 8:25 amAs I recall, Buccieri, Turk, Jackie Cerone, and Dave Yaras were in Miami to kill Esposito. My mistake, wrong link. Still interesting though.
Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
This is the correct link. It's to a 1967 issue of Life where Buccieri and Torello tell Cerone about what they did to Action Jackson:

Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
I'm assuming these were among some of the illegal wires the Feds had going at the time which was why none of these guys were ever charged with these murders?

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

The conversation about Action Jackson was recorded at the Armory Lounge using a hidden mic, so yes, this is one of those.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:52 am I'm assuming these were among some of the illegal wires the Feds had going at the time which was why none of these guys were ever charged with these murders?

I thought that one was in the house they were staying at in Florida. Someone tipped them off as to the location and they wired it up.Antiliar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 11:01 amThe conversation about Action Jackson was recorded at the Armory Lounge using a hidden mic, so yes, this is one of those.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:52 am I'm assuming these were among some of the illegal wires the Feds had going at the time which was why none of these guys were ever charged with these murders?

Holy shit the artwork in that article is awesome! Looks like an old Mad magazine style with a map of the old LCN territories. I've never seen that before, thanks for posting it!Antiliar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:45 am This is the correct link. Interesting comment in this report. When discussing the value of electronic surveillance on LCN, it states: "The term Boss, Consiglieri, Caporegima, Borgata, L.C.N. Mafia and Commission are heard in the Chicago area."Antiliar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 10:45 am

This at least seems to suggest that the FBI ELSUR program in Chicago captured someone using the term Consigliere.

I knew I wasn't crazy so I looked in Roemer's book and he claims the transcript came from a bugged house in Miami. It's on page 276 if you have Man Against the Mob.Antiliar wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 4:59 pmhttps://books.google.com/books?id=ayqaB ... on&f=falseSnakes wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 4:26 pmI thought that one was in the house they were staying at in Florida. Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
Vincent Inserra, his boss, said it was from the Armory Lounge, although Life magazine says the convo took place in Miami. Will have to see if an FBI file gives the source.
There was a *similar* conversation in Miami, but it's a guy named Pete telling the story. The FBI couldn't identify this Pete. I think Pete was what they heard as "Feef."
