I really doubt that Madonna and the Lucchese’s were plotting to kill Mancuso. Madonna already had enough problems with the law on his plate. The heat from killing a boss nowadays would be incredible. I think that the rat Pasqua completely made up the story.

Donnie shacks died
Re: Gangland 1/14/21
It's not even confirmed that he was ever "acting" as acting underboss, because that was a proposed position for Montemarano to take when he went to NY. From the Reynold Maragni wiretaps, the promotion of Donnie Montemarano to acting underboss and Tom Farese to acting consigliere was planned to take place over the Christmas season because Montemarano would move from LA to NY and Farese would move from Fla. to NY.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 9:09 amShame GL didnt state Donnie's position.Hired_Goonz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:22 am I guess this is why Londonio was so determined to break out of MDC, because he had to then break IN to Danbury to kill Mikey Nose.
Thanks for the post.
The problem is that Maragni was an informant, and Farese was arrested before Christmas and before he ever got to New York. And it doesn't seem like Montemarano went to New York anytime after that on his own. I don't think he held a formal title in the family when he died, although he was always very close to Persico and Russo. He was probably more-or-less the same as when Kenji Gallo knew him; not really too active, but could still represent the Colombos in LA.

Idk, I disagree. Madonna doesn't give a fuck about jail imoslimshady_007 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 12:40 pm I really doubt that Madonna and the Lucchese’s were plotting to kill Mancuso. He's one of those gangsters, the salt of the earth type. If he knows he's being arrested 48 hrs later I think he's smart enough to understand that but he doesn't care. If it wasn't made up that is.

Appreciated.
Stay well.

Agree with you 100%. This doesn’t pass the skiff test. Smells fishy and like a lie from a junkie snitchHired_Goonz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:22 am I don't know if I buy this supposed murder contract on Mancuso. So the source is Pasqua? Let me guess, Agent Otto was the one that Pasqua first told about the conspiracy? I guess this is why Londonio was so determined to break out of MDC, because he had to then break IN to Danbury to kill Mikey Nose.

Londonio never tried to escape from MDC. A concocted story for which he was acquitted btw. And yes, Otto was very involved with Pasqua. I wrote a whole section on him which is on a thread here somewhere...or you can read about it in the link in my signature.Hired_Goonz wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:22 am I don't know if I buy this supposed murder contract on Mancuso. Doesn’t whacking a boss require approval from the other bosses? Madonna definitely knew that he couldn’t just kill a boss and not suffer any backlash.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 8:03 pmIdk, I disagree. I would agree with you there. That's the rule we all come to understand. Persico JR is locked up so is Amuso, so I guess whoever the boss is for the binos and genoveses you can asl them. It might not be required bc the risk nowadays trying to get a message to all the bosses is automatically life. The way Mancuso self appointed himself or as it seems that way seems he didn't follow the rules himself. Or who's going to challenge Madonna or enforce the rules if he does do this.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 14, 2021 9:33 pmDoesn’t whacking a boss require approval from the other bosses? Isn't kind of personal anyways?
Didn't Madonna fail to recognize Mancuso as boss and a bunch of guys showed up at the social club packing heat?

It is not like he would have jumped up and taken credit for it. It almost certainly would have been a sneak job with denials all around.

I think Mancuso appointing himself the boss was an exception to the rule that nobody can appoint themself boss. At the time Mancuso appointed himself boss, the Bonanno’s didn’t have an official boss after Massino flipped. Vinny Gorgeous was in the can and he didn’t have enough support on the street, so Mancuso seemed like the guy next in the line to take over. Regarding Madonna not recognizing Mancuso, I don’t see the logic behind it. The Lukes didn’t want to recognize Mancuso because he was in prison which is absolutely ridiculous since Vic Amuso is the Lukes’ imprisoned for life boss.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 15, 2021 5:10 amI would agree with you there. I don't see Mancuso as next logical candidate
Cammarano and Porky just beat a case. They had guys behind them, supposedly Spirito Sr. who just got out at 63 yrs old and some guys seem tougher than Mancuso and probably has more respectful and feared more. So it wasn't just cut and dry case with Mancuso. I remember Lovaglio bugged that meeting in the garage where it was almost going to come to a war. So again Mancuso stepping on toes. There's also the part where he killed his wife left her on a park bench at a hospital and went on vacation.

*Spirito as tougher, more respected and more feared. Not the other guys in general. Spirito is old school did time for the Sciascia hit. The 2009 hit of Seccaficio which was done when Spiritio was locked up was let's just say probably known to Spirito that it was going to happen so he has some pull.
