I imagine it’s beyond weird to people not familiar with South Philly but trust me it’s totally normal and ingrained in their neighborhood culture to be a mummer. They live and breath this shit. It would be weird if you lived in South Philly and weren’t involved with a Mummers club.

Mummers is huge in Philly. People line the streets on new years day and just party while the parade takes place. 2 st. fired up

That being said, if it wasn't so familiar I could imagine it looking goofy.

I remember when George A. interviewed Skinny Joey. Joey said he missed the Mummers parade. I was like "WTF is a Mummer?" Then I looked it up and I had no clue. I don't get this at all but God bless. Crazy fuckers...lol

I have seen pics of Steve Mazzone and Michael Lancelotti dressed up in Mummer costumes. Haven’t seen any other videos. If someone has a video, please post.
