New Pennisi Article About Philadelphia

Re: New Pennisi Article About Philadelphia
Exactly. Why was a Lucchese member delivering a message for a Colombo captain to the Philly mob?
What was the message John? That was left out of his BS article. This guy lies when the truth would sound better.
Would love to hear John Pennisi tell some stories about all his rackets and how much money he made. Oh yeah! He was a brokester who worked a job carrying a brown paper sack to lunch and probably rode a city bus.

If it’s a Luchese guy from Staten Island, where Amato is based, why is that hard to believe?

Merlino wasnt around for this visit , On the way to deliver a message to the Philly administration from another family not the lukes ...Pennisi stopped at Ray Wags house while wags was watching his sons , Then Pennisi Called wags a "door holder " for Merlino , This alone sounds suspect, Think about it .....Then repeats what just came out in the indictments Sonny Mazzone being made ,

I dunno, nothing Pennisi's said so far has seemed that far fetched or unbelievable to me. He seems willing to correct himself if he misspeaks or makes a mistake and I can't really point to any examples of him contradicting himself. Seems perfectly plausible to me that if he's friendly with Joey Amato and Amato knows he's going to Philly to meet guys there that he could ask him to pass a message on to John Ciancaglini, whether that be just to say hello or whatever. He hasn't fallen into my BS radar so far. Quite glad he's writing as much and doing as many podcasts as he is. Providing stories about things we wouldn't usually get, especially not from a member source.

has pennisi talked about who is incharge of the gambino family?
Re: New Pennisi Article About Philadelphia
Remember he said the Genovese family are seen as the weird ones who go through hoops to have secretive meetings. The picture he's given of everyone else is more easygoing and social. He knew Genovese guys, too, but he made it a point to say that they have a different reputation from everyone else. He said even the 'ndrangheta guys wanted to say hello and visit socially.
If this was the first time we were hearing about the entire Philly regime hanging out together in public I might question it, but practically every Monday morning we have a new photo spread of Philly members hanging out. It's almost like the Philly guys are trying to come up with new combinations of members to pose with in photos. It's like they're trying to create evidence that every single person in the family associates with each other. But that's just who they are. They're a group of friends in addition to being the Ruthless Dons of the Philly-Jersey-Boston-Rhode Island Syndicate. They're buddies as well as minions of Skinny Lucifer and his man "Joe Watts" Wagner.
Joey Merlino poses for social media photos with Joe Perna. Philly take "members only" group photos at weddings where they can't even use the "neighborhood friends" excuse because Scoops Licata and Fazzini are right there. These guys still like to meet each other and network. Many of them have done prison time together and formed close friendships. Angelo Lutz dedicated one of his dishes to a Detroit member. We saw on the Stefanelli transcript how Scoops Licata and Lorenzo Mannino became friends in prison and Licata was excited to meet Joe Gambino because Mannino talked him up in prison. Even the esteemed Mannino gossips in prison about who he knows. They're all part of the same club.
We have this idea that these guys don't make eye contact and only communicate at 3 AM using morse code. The Genovese might do that, but Scoops Licata sounded like a school girl saying, "So you're Joe Gambino. I've heard so much about you!" He didn't sound like a shrewd gangster schooled by Tony Bananas, but he doesn't have to. I don't see the difference between the La Griglia meeting between Philly and the Gambinos in 2010 and Pennisi hanging at a diner with Philly members in 2016.
The murder stuff would otherwise be far-fetched, but we heard the Philly guys gossip on the Stefanelli tapes about murders their family committed. This a group of guys who really let it all hang out. Because of that I just can't dismiss Pennisi's story.

Pennisi shouldn't be dismissed ,But be skeptical of hard details left out (mud checking ) , Dates ,times, reasons ,some corroborating proof , Pennisi as a non fiction mafia Blogger should be held to a standard of accuracy, And he was .Props to whoever reached him , the problem is most rats have a personal interest dilemma, Im happy to see he put a correction adenium on the story ,

He has said that shortly after he got straightened out in 2013 he knew that Lorenzo Mannino took on an acting administration position. That's all he's said about the Gambino administration though. He only mentioned that because he was telling a story about a meeting he had with Mannino.

He was introduced as a captain at the May 2010 La Griglia meeting recorded by Nick Stefanelli so at least 10 years ago now. Unless anyone else knows of an earlier incident where he was identified as a skipper. He was released from prison in 2004 so my guess would be he gets promoted sometime between then and 2010.

Bet they made him in 2004 as soon as he got out. Pretty impressive he's not been arrested in 16 yearschin_gigante wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 5:57 amHe was introduced as a captain at the May 2010 La Griglia meeting recorded by Nick Stefanelli so at least 10 years ago now. Yeah it was around this time when John Gambino was on the committee.chin_gigante wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 5:57 amHe was introduced as a captain at the May 2010 La Griglia meeting recorded by Nick Stefanelli so at least 10 years ago now. Made right after he was released in 04. He would've been made when Gotti was on the streets if he didn't get locked up.TommyGambino wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 6:23 amBet they made him in 2004 as soon as he got out. I bet the diner was the Penrose Diner, the place is aces and the Philly guys seem to always be there.
Game changer for me was when I found out that it serves booze by accident, changed my life.

Re: New Pennisi Article About Philadelphia
One of the things I find suspect about what Pennisi said was that Dom was involved in the Johnny Gongs hit.
It’s hard for me to see because he rolled with 10th and O when he was younger and didn’t gravitate towards LCN and Nicodemo’s crew until later.
Also , Grande’s wife works the good gravy shifts at Chickies and Petes. I didn’t know she was also working at Dom’s Moms restaurant out in the burbs. I’m not saying he’s lying but those are a few things that stood out to me.
