I think the story got posted on RD around 205/2006ish. Could have been later. The story was that Tino had some kind of beef. He sent one of his guys direct to Joey. Tino sent messages direct, he didn't call. This was probably 98-99 when Ralph went away and Joey is running the show and there is talk with parts of New York not recognizing Philly. The guy goes direct to Joey and told him that Tino wants to see him. This is when Tino is the most feared guy in Jersey. Joey allegedly paused for a second, looked at the guy and told him, tell Tino if he wants to see me he knows where I'm at, or he can come down and see me or something like that. Guy goes back to Tino and tells him what Joey said. Tino just chuckles.

Point being, Joey knew the politics and rules. Tino, regardless if he has 50 guns at the ready, doesn't have the right to summon the boss of another family to see him or even summon a member of another family to see him. There was some good stuff posted on RD around then about Tino, and also the Pernas, Mike T, Ricciardis and that whole crew. Then everything got lost when the site crashed. Shame.

That makes me happy for his wife and two kids, will be more convenient to see him. I always feel for the kids, children can’t choose who their parents are and always get hurt the most in these type of situations.

Yeah those wonderful innocent guys.

Nicodemo caught a break here, SCI Phoenixville is a brand new facility. You’ll still have the same yard apes running around in there, but I can’t imagine it’ll be as decrepit as Graterford.

Was asking myself why Giuseppe Gallara is held at a medical facility and it turns out it's because he suffers from paranoid schizophrenia, so he's at FMC Rochester for psychiatric reasons.

Probably still not the craziest member to come out of Philly

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Didn't he get life in prison when he was in his 30s?

It says he went on a hunger strike, a real one
Not one of those for show and tell. He had to get 150 forced food feedings instead. It looks like he has severe mental illness based on what I read.

What's worse? Executing him or preventing him from executing himself? I'd say the latter instead of the former.

Nicodemo is very lucky he didn't get life. That would have been a tough sentence to take.

I admit I'm not update to date with Philadelphia but to me it seems like there is more known about the Philadelphia guys than places like NY. Is this true? And if so, why is that? Do these guys like the attention more?

New York gets the most attention, for obvious reasons, but a lot is known about Philly because 1) they've had so many guys flip over the years, 2) they've had George Anastasia (including in Mob Talk) covering them for so long, and because they're a small family.
All roads lead to New York.
