I think people have a misconception that way back in the day guys got made a lot younger than more recently... I think it’s probably fairly similar... most guys get made it seems in like their late 30s-40’s... then there’s guys who don’t get their button til they’re like in their 60’s.. then there’s those exceptions like Barney who was like 20 when he was made.. and pretty sure he took over the 116st crew by his mid 20s...
I do feel a lot of guys who get made at a younger age is due to nepotism... having fathers, uncles, grandfathers, father in laws, already long time members.

I don't know. Back in the day you had a lot guys get made in the their late teens and early 20s and you had a lot of Bosses in their 20s and 30s (Bonanno, Capone, Luciano, Profaci). In 1931 all the Bosses of the 5 families were under the age of 50. That is unheard of in more recent times. LCN was a much younger organization overall back then.

i think its kinda cool theyll induct a guy in his 60tys even 70tys. guy must have been dedicated. cant just make every guy in his 30tys early 40tys. look at pennisi, big dino calabro ect. think the gambinos made a guy freddy hots he was close to 70ty back when peter gotti was in charge.
