Some interesting stuff here:

- Vito Guzzo, half-brother of Luchese member Anthony Guzzo and shooter in the hit on Vincent Ricciardo and Anthony Messi, is a Colombo member

- In 2014, wiseguys imprisoned with former Colombo street boss Ralph DeLeo at FCI Danbury were spreading rumours that he was no good, so DeLeo went to Guzzo for help

- Guzzo saw this as an opportunity to get straightened out with the Colombos

- Anthony Guzzo asked Pennisi to go see Salvatore Cambria, who was 'acting Colombo street boss at that time'

- Pennisi met Cambria at a restaurant in Queens and gave him a piece of paper with DeLeo's name on it

- Cambria got back to Pennisi two days later saying DeLeo was in good standing with the Colombos (Pennisi passed this on to Anthony Guzzo)

- Pennisi ran into Cambria at the same restaurant two weeks later, and Cambria said, 'The kid Vito reached out to ask my permission for him to get straightened out in the joint'

- Vito Guzzo later was inducted into the Colombo family in prison

- Pennisi mentioned it to Joseph DiNapoli at the club in the Bronx, and DiNapoli told him that inducting people in prison 'is an insult to this whole thing'

- DiNapoli said because of the way the Colombos inducted Guzzo, they didn't have to recognise him

Interesting that they made Guzzo in prison. I think he has been in prison since the early 1990s and doesn't get out until 2029. Seems like a waste of a membership spot.

Ralph DeLeo is the luckiest bum criminal I ever read about in my life. I have to believe Colombos or even more so Perisco put him there to take the hits. Gave a couple dollars, patronized him a bit and thats it. Persico(s) are to smart for this guy to unintentionally be a fools errand

Where was it said he’s a rat?
I’ve searched and found nothing about him flipping or informing. Quite the opposite:
Upon his 2012 sentencing for 19.5 years:

“ Timothy Watkins, DeLeo's lawyer, said: "Ralph DeLeo stood up to take his punishment in federal court for the things he has done, things he has now put behind him. He did so with much equanimity and grace."”

In May, Deleo pleaded guilty to a racketeering conspiracy and being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. Judge Woodlock accepted Deleo’s guilty plea today and imposed sentence.”

Maybe guys didn't know he had done some ratting in his past....I thought that came out that he gave info against a guy in the 70s or 80s.
