If there are other factors, like a supply drought on the street, too many wolves and too few lambs, a global pandemic causing the worst recession since the great depression, yeah, it would just be a coincidence. What person conscientiously capable of killing someone was ever stopped by the mere presence of police? Police cutbacks lead to more shoplifting and looting.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 7:05 pm Right it is just a coincidence that murders and shootings have skyrocketed in areas where the police have pulled back.

Glick told author Nicholas Pileggi that he expected to meet a banker-type individual, but instead, he found Alvin Baron to be a gruff, tough-talking cigar-chomping Teamster who greeted him with, “What the fuck do you want?”

The effect of police pulling back have been going on years before this pandemic. Case in point the Bostwanamore example mentioned above. And the pandemic excuse doesn't explain the sudden massive spike from one week to another that we saw after these anti-police "protests".

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Neither does police cutbacks. What person capable and determined to take a life has ever been like nah I better not I might go to jail.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 8:26 pm The effect of police pulling back have been going on years before this pandemic. But you have no facts to back up your statement. You don't even believe your statement. It's your weekly troll done on purpose in order to get attention. Less Police equals more murders. That is what has happened in reality & those are the facts. Your "opinion" means nothing without facts to say otherwise. Same old story with you.Grouchy Sinatra wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 6:12 pmJust filtering it through reality, I can't imagine anyone in a life of crime out there hesitating to kill someone because of law enforcement logistics. I can see things like theft and looting going up during police cutbacks. That's a no brainer. But murder? Nah. Anyone determined to take someone's life is probably going to do it, or at least try to do it, no matter how many cops are running around out there in Hawaiian shirts.johnny_scootch wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 5:44 pmOf course there are other factors but this is a major major factor. The Plain Clothes Unit did most of the heavy lifting for the NYPD when it came to getting guns off the streets of the worst neighborhoods. It's murders galore out here again, back to pre giuliani levels of not giving a fuck. Not sure how this move helped do anything but hurt the black community because they're the ones getting shot by the dozens every weekend.Grouchy Sinatra wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 4:21 pmNo other factors?Gabagool718 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 18, 2020 2:18 pmThey did away with the jump out boys (plain clothes officers) in NYC, shootings are up like 200% in Brooklyn & Bronx, SMH wtf did they think would happen ???
I find it hard to believe anyone out there in the game who wants to kill someone is going to hesitate because of the mere existence of plain clothed cops.

Grouchy that's just not true in any realistic sense, maybe in you're imagination like you stated but not on planet Earth. The Plain Clothes Unit was detrimental to safety in Black communities and there is a direct correlation to the absolute skyrocketing murder percentage there. Gang members attacking gang members with impunity but also plenty random shootings because people aren't afraid to walk the streets with pistols anymore. No one is going after these guys because they have all been reassigned to the telephone reporting unit or to guard some paint on the floor in front of Trump Tower. No plain Clothes unit means one thing and one thing only..... black people will be shot killed and maimed by the dozens weekly.Grouchy Sinatra wrote: ↑Tue Jul 21, 2020 6:12 pm

Since 15 or so black people get killed by cops every year the cops must pull back and let 100's of black people get murdered. Sounds like a policy cooked up by the KKK but its the Democrats.

Correlation does not equal causation. There are a ton of things happening right now that could be blamed for an increasing murder rate. At best, police personnel numbers is merely one of these things, if even that, because I really don't believe anyone capable of and determined to kill someone would be stopped from at least trying no matter how many police are on the street. Police presence has an effect on misdemeanors, when the cat's away the mice will play...looting, vagrancy, aggressive panhandling, etc. The felon's mindset is totally different.johnny_scootch wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 5:32 amGrouchy that's just not true in any realistic sense, maybe in you're imagination like you stated but not on planet Earth. But your "Belief" doesn't mean shit compared to the fact that the murder rate went WAY UP with the lack of Police present on the street. That's all that matters. Nothing else matters. No other "Opinion" or idiotic "Belief" mean anything compared to the reality of facts.Grouchy Sinatra wrote: ↑Wed Jul 22, 2020 6:10 pmCorrelation does not equal causation.
