Nicky JR gets 30 years

Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
Rocco's right, Jr and Pelullo went after a private company, not a bunch of guys jerking off online, it's treated much differently and it should be. The feds were on to these guys from the start anyway, there were rumblings of this shit in the papers in '08 or '09, and Junior did himself no favors by coming back to the Philly/SJ area...he brought a lot of heat to himself from the local feds and the press...and not to mention the guy has been a fucking pharaoh on the street since his old man was taken off the street in '87. I have no sympathy for this asshole, fuck him.

Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
What do you mean Jr's been a pharaoh on the street? Would you mind to clarify? I always thought Jr wasn't really liked.
Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
I'm pretty sure he meant pariah not a pharaoh.
The big difference is also that his name is Nicky Scarfo....granted the Feds don't like people who steal white people's money anymore, but if his name were John Smith he probably would have gotten lost in the shuffle.

Wasn't thinking while I was typed, pariah is what I meant, thank you Bruno.

They must have Cheech. Didn't they offer Scarfo Jr a deal?Cheech wrote:TommyGambino wrote:Funny how the Bronx Gambino's scammed nearly a billion dollars and all got fairly short sentences, Nicky Jr gets slammed for this

Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
Their greed got them caught--if they would have been stealing little by little it could have lasted for years. Look what Bernie Madoff and clan stole and for how long.
Man, the feds got exactly what they wanted, another Scarfo in jail for all sense and purposes the rest of his life. They probably would want him to flip just to embarrass or kill the old man.

Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
Anyone know what their in was at this company? Obviously they couldn't just come in off the street and take over had to have someone on the inside
I agree with phat,I love those old fucks and he's right.we all got some cosa nostra in us.I personnely love the life.I think we on the forum would be the ultimate crew! - camerono
Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
Somehow they were in with the Board of Directors of the bank and I think Scarfo and Pelullo had the bank hire them or their company(ies) as consultants and they also created basically fake companies that the bank either bought or invested in until the bank went bankrupt.
Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
I agree with what rayray says. From what I can find Harold Garber, a lawyer for Nicky Scarfo Sr back in the 80s, was appointed a chairman at FirstPlus. Nicky Jr used him to get into the company I believe.
Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
Two brothers based out of Texas. One was an attorney. That's the guys he used to set as the new CEO. They are being sentenced with the rest today or tomorrow. Maybe they relocated out to TX or Scarfo Sr used one of them when he was in prison in TX during his reignCuriosity wrote:I agree with what rayray says. He'll be in a white collar, minimum security prison unless they throw the book at him because of his alleged mob ties and his father.Rocco wrote:There is no parole in the federal system. He will spend pretty close to 30yrs in prison if he lives that long. And this is financial fraud. Ordinary guys get 20plus yrs for this now. Feds don't fuck around with financial fraud anymore. Bernie Ebers got 80yrs for the WorldCom scam. And that was over ten years ago.Teflon john wrote:Unless he has poor health he wont die in prison. The joke the justice system is,i would bet he will be out in 10 years or less. Kind of a joke to me that he got 30 years anyway since alot of guys get less than that with a murder involved. This just goes to show you that money is more valuable than life is,at least to rich people.

Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
In George Fresolone's book you get a good glimpse of Scarfo Jr.'s mindset when he was starting to try and make a name for himself on his own. He comes across as a guy who really wants to be taken seriously and is eager to come up with creative rackets and business opportunities, like a failed version of Richie Martino and those guys. This recent case was just the continuation of that, but with much higher stakes. I understand this guy constantly lived with his father screaming in his ear, trying to live vicariously through him, but you'd think at some point he would have pulled a Junior Gotti. Maybe Junior Gotti wouldn't have done what he did if his father was still alive like Scarfo, though.
Re: Nicky JR gets 30 years
Jr Gotti would have done the same regardless if his dad was alive. Jr Gotti wasn't your typical kid from Howard Beach. While other kids were brawling in the streets he lived a sheltered life in a NY military school with kids from there upper middle class of LI North shore. He wasn't cut out for that life. If JR was convicted at one of his trials and sentenced to 50yrs he would almost certainly flipped.
