Philly mob and money
They say “Philly Mob is making a little more than crumbs compared to the BIG money days of Bruno and Scarfo”.My question is do you think Stanfa made more money as boss for those approximately four years as Bosss( give or take ) as Ligambi did In his let’s say first 6-8 years. Do you think Ligambi saw a Significant difference in money his second half as boss? With him turning the family around , I’m sure envelopes got a little fatter. And getting it from all different directions.Plus a lot of guys got back on the street in his second half .What do you guys think?

Re: Philly mob and money
Bruno and Scarfo controlled the casinos and the syndacates in Atlantic City plus in the 1980s the family was so strong to impose a street tax and with the K&A gang Philly becomed the meth capital of USA and Leonetti said that Scarfo had 3 milions hidden in a wall that was only his part from the street tax.
Ligambi rebuilted the family after a decade of war and made new blood but the family didn't control anymore the unions and had a little presence in drug traffick, after said that for sure the Philly was more active in the traditional LCN rackets but with 20-30 active members I doubt Ligambi made more than 2 or 3 milions during his street boss reign.

Re: Philly mob and money
The Servidio indictment shows that philly is still making money. Acting capo Dom Grande was still getting tribute. In my opinion, I think Philly is still making decent money but some of the Scarfo guys seem to have gone semi- legit. The golden days are over tho. Joker poker machines, loansharking, and extortion are philly’s bread and butter nowadays.

Re: Philly mob and money
For some perspective here is what I posted on Philly earnings a while back.
And for the record Bruno and Scarfo never controlled the casinos in AC.
Pogo
Ralph Natale testified that he was making 3,000-3,500 a week as Boss. So 144,000-168,000 a year. Adjusted for inflation 231,000-270,000 in 2020. Though we must keep in mind that Natale had his own drug trafficking operation that brought in a lot of that and the family was also collecting a weekly street tax from 40-50 bookmakers that he got a piece of. Today the street tax is largely non-existent in Philly.
Looking at the Stanfa, Merlino and Ligambi indictments we see that Philly is not a big money family. GA has said on several occassionss that there is not a lot going on in terms of rackets today. I can't imagine their Boss in 2020 making more than real low 6 figures a year.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
Re: Philly mob and money
Yeah, according to both Freselone and Leonetti, the Philly family simply did some sub-contracting on the initial casino construction (most going to the NY families) and pilfered the funds of HEREU Local 54 (part of which went to the Genovese).Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 10:30 am For some perspective here is what I posted on Philly earnings a while back.

In February, George Anastasia was on the Philly Prime Podcast and estimated that there were four or five captains and about a dozen active soldiers.JeremyTheJew wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 10:11 am What's the latest chart look like for admin and capos ??

Breaking that down:
Joseph Merlino - still reputed boss; under house arrest in Boca Raton; will be released from federal custody next month
Michael Lancellotti - alleged street boss; it was recently reported that he was sick again though he has been seen recently around the social club on Ninth and Catharine; possibly also a captain
Dominic Grande - captain; possibly taken over Lancellotti's crew
Martin Angelina - captain
Joseph Licata - captain; on the same podcast, Anastasia said that Licata was still running the North Jersey crew
George Borgesi - possible captain; Scott Burnstein has him as the new acting boss; over the past couple of years a lot of talk has been that Borgesi is 'off the totem pole' and legit; recent Mob Talk articles have identified him quite explicitly as a current captain though
John Ciancaglini - possible captain; identified as a captain in 2014; identified as a 'street boss' running the family with Mazzone in 2015; allegedly shifted into a more 'relaxed' mode in recent years and less of a major player
Steven Mazzone - possible administration member; consigliere as of 2010; Merlino's street boss from 2011 to about 2015; sometimes referred to as the underboss; like Ciancaglini alleged to have taken a step back in recent years
Joseph Ligambi - possible consigliere; identified as consigliere in 2015; stepped back up as acting boss by 2016; allegedly retired last year; Anastasia speculated on Philly Prime that he could be consigliere
Joseph Ciancaglini - possible consigliere; Anastasia wrote in 2015 that Ciancaglini and Ligambi were serving as 'dual consiglieres'; in his mid-eighties so he could be retired
Francis Iannarella - possible hierarchy member; Anastasia noted his attendance at meetings of high ranking guys but questioned whether there was a need to have another captain; could just be hanging out now that his supervised release is over; Burnstein has him as consigliere
Phillip Narducci - most likely on his own; identified as a 'street boss' by Anastasia in 2015; identified as the leader of his own faction in 2016; his loan sharking case looked unrelated to the rest of the organisation and he was identified as just a 'member' of the family rather than as holding any real rank; most of the information about him in recent years (apart from his loan sharking case) has been about him wanting to do his own thing and run his restaurant legitimately; Burnstein has him as a captain
Joseph Pungitore - most likely on his own; tried to get Ligambi to kill Joseph Grande in 2010; identified as the leader of his own faction in 2016; Burnstein has him as a captain; all of the information I've been able to find on him since 2016 though has been about his seemingly legitimate house flipping business

When it comes to who the active soldiers could be I think these are the most likely:
Martin Curro
Eric Esposito
Louis Fazzini
Vincent Filipelli
Joseph Grande
Francis Iannarella
Gaeton Lucibello
Salvatore Mazzone
Nicholas Olivieri
[plus the 5 made in 2015]
Philip Ligambi (if he is made)
Albert Lancellotti (if he is made)

Francis Iannarella

Wonder what Ligambi was putting to the side for Merlino those 13 years.

yeah I don’t think they are making a small amount of money, just not the huge amounts that Bruno and Stanfa was getting. Stanfa Or Ligambi ( any of his years as boss) making more in a year ?

I know and understand that thrill of the life and all.... But damn.

I know guys that are taking unemployment and almost all if not everyone (If you count part-time / side gigs) have legitimate employment. Read into that as you well. Could be to supplement income plus showing the IRS legitimate income?

Ligambi had a no-show job with Top Job Carpeting run by fellow Philadelphia crime family member, Mauro Goffredo.
