Former Mob Kingpin Anthony Megale Dies Of Heart Attack At Stamford Hospital
A former underboss in the Gambino crime family died Tuesday night at Stamford Hospital, according to The Advocate.
Anthony Megale, 61, became the acting underboss of the Gambino family in 2002 after Peter Gotti was arrested on racketeering charges, according to Wikipedia. Megale was also known as “The Genius", "Tony Connecticut," "Machiavelli," "Mac," "The Brain," "Mr. T" and "Gas Man."
Megale was born in Italy, attended Post University in Waterbury for two years -- majoring in recreation -- and resided in North Stamford with his wife and three children. He joined the Gambino crime family, and was convicted of a narcotics offense in 1982. His scrapes with the law were only beginning.

I'm at a loss for words. The guy was a very young 61. But jail ages you unlike any other environmental factor in your life. It's particularly rough on the cardiovascular system. Studies have been done on the subject. Forty-year-old men with more than ten years inside have more arterial damage than "free" men twice their age. It's a lot of stress.

Yeah Only rarely do people stay preserved in jail. Look at Ligambi aged 25 years from '87-'97 and 10 more from '11-14. Imagine that damage that did on his heart, he's luckier to of not dropped dead than to be on the streets right now. A lot of the people from my town who went away in their teens who are my age are fully or almost completely bald.

The stress of the environment and the artery clogging pig slop they give you for food. Most of it is genetics though when it comes to heart disease. I saw this guy in some form of leading role in the family's future. Young guy...didn't see this coming...East Bronx wrote:I'm at a loss for words. The guy was a very young 61. It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Persico and Scarfo are just fine. They always look like they came off the beach. Persico and his tomatoes.
What about the Gemini Twins? Didn't one of them have a jail band?
Then there's Orena, he looked good. But didn't he get religious?
Then of course like it was said, Merlino reversed time in jail lol.

I think it's safe to call them the exception, not the rule.rayray wrote:Persico and Scarfo are just fine. They always look like they came off the beach. Persico and his tomatoes.

I think a fair analogy is booze. Eight out of ten drunks age terribly. Then there are one or two guys that the booze actually preserves. And let me be clear because I'm a regular drinker myself, and I know we have our share of imbibers here. When I say eight out of ten drunks, I'm talking about guys who drink 24/7, bathe once a week (if that), and have four yellow teeth in their mouths.
I'm certainly not talking about the guy who stops at the local gin mill for a few pops after work.

A lot of guys go in and all they do is work out and play handball. I've seen guys go in flabby and come out in the best shape of their lives.Pogo The Clown wrote:Funny Joey Merlino once said prison preserves you.

Greg didn't help. But that scumbag Oil Can Harry is the guy who ran to the Feds and wired himself up for sound. And part of his deal is he STILL gets dividends from his strip joints while in witness protection. THAT'S your government for you.NYNighthawk wrote:He was in the can due to the Greg DePalma debacle

Baby Shacks in Rhode Island is a health nut, but he has some good genetics.

I was going to post that at GBB. But decided better. The Feds had. Such a hard on for him so much that to this day HF gets a cut from both. And one of them is a whore house that people have known about for over a decade. The police up there don't give a fuck. It's a different world in CT.
Sorry. Wrong Frank
