He actually claims that it's because of HIM that Merlino got ANY power. Bc Natale says he went to ny and said "no one fucks w skinny joey or they fucking w me!!!" Lol.

It's unbelievable to listen to him. You know how u can easily tell it's all fake? By him CONSTANTLY having to say that he's not lieing. Idk anyone who has to defend themselves that much.....
"You can believe all those ppl.... Or me"

Sooo... Let's be real for a minute tho.

WHAT IS NATALE INVOLVED WITH BRUNO IN?? for him to be able to boldish claim how he was secretly made by Bruno and Gambino... Would make me think maybe he had some history w Bruno??
He went away for like 15 years right?? This was for drugs I believe....
Also, interested to know his and stanfas old association if any together??

Natale personally shot and killed George Feeney and Joseph McGreal in the 1970s. The McGreal hit at least was sanctioned by Bruno.

Ok, thanks. Glad someone has some facts cause Natale sure doesn’t.

One thing that informs me that Natale is a student of pop culture is Salvie Testa. EVERY fucking source, from Anastasia himself to Caramandi to Leonetti all make the case that Testa's murder wasn't warranted. Which may be true, but one thing is not the other and since then, Salvie Testa has become the patron saint of the Philadelphia mob. Natale's ravings of him are no different than Celeste Morello's comments on his "dreamy eyes." They all want to be a part of mob history.

Ralph Natale ran the Bartender's Union on behalf of the Phila. Mafia, that is established and would have been interesting to ask him about the ramifications of that. But due to his constant bullshitting it taints whatever he says.

Was that how he went to prison?

I thought it was drugs. I think he went multiple times. I like how he says guys will welcome him now cuz he such a man's man.

Didn't John Gotti say natale was not real boss and stay away from Philly??

People can be involved in multiple things. He was a fuck up, but he was well placed in that union to explain things, or as his place as official boss from 95-99, we'd need someone to ask the right questions. I imagine if we footed him a C-note he'd answer these questions if we knew how to get ahold of him. I think it was Stanfa whom, according to Anastasia, Natale got word to Gotti if he recognized Stanfa and Gotti's alleged response was "Who knows him?" If he's lying to us he was likely lying to them. There's articles from the city paper that go into Natale's claims and how it raised eyebrows with the younger associates who knew enough about history to know that during that the time Natale was active, his name wasn't known. He wouldn't have been in a position to say who comes to AC or not.

He's liar, they all fucking are. Would anyone here consider criminals to be honest individuals, probably not so why should it apply to organized criminals. He's cashing in, same with Culotta, Franzese... Pistone and Garcia if we're making an unbiased list. "Always the fucking dollars."

Actually no. Gravano, Leonetti, DiLeonardo, they were in such a position where they have no need to lie. Caramandi never seemed to inflate himself either, he's someone I'd love to get ahold of. He was the quintessential South Philly Wiseguy's wiseguy.

Quite honestly, I'd like to see DiLeonardo, wherever he is, release something. If Leonetti was the Outsider faction, Gravano was the Sicilian non-connected member, DiLeonardo has the bloodlines. This guy and Anthony Rotundo are Joe Bonannos as caporegimes. Both men came from a mafia lineage and their perspectives would be different from a Valachi or Fratianno. There was discrimination within the mafia. Non-Mafia aristrocrats (Napolitan, Calabrese, non-lineaged Sicilians) had to earn the position and show they were capable of it. Meanwhile Sicilian Mafia aristocrats (Tommy Gambino, Pete Inzerillo) were made members with the expectation that they would grow into it. They were not "killers" and in the eyes of a non-aristocratic Gravano or Fratianno who had more of a street-take on gangsterism, would be seen as weak or inferior to the "real gangsters." of course I wouldn't walz up to Tommy Gambino or Pete Inzerillo and tell them that. Someone like DiLeonardo may be able to expand on the bloodlines, the process that we rarely see. Lonardo was in a position to but never did.

If I sat down with Natale I wouldn't try to get him in gotchas, I'd just keep asking him questions hoping he'd drop enough crumbs for me to pick up on the actual truth.

So tell me about your tenure as boss.
"When I was boss I commanded everything. Forget about Merlino who's a fucking punk, motherfuck him, you know he robbed everybody--"
You were on parole in New Jersey, how did you get your edicts to the organization?"
"Joey would send Steve Mazzone to tell me what decisions were made. Joey was always a fucking punk, I was the boss, he did things the way I said they should be done."

In this theoretical, Ralph's lying his ass off, but we can sort through and extract elements that might be true. Etc. In Ralph's World, he's the Godfather and Merlino is a crony. IRL, Merlino is the boss today. Rather than go big dick with him, it's more beneficial to just let him talk and keep asking questions. But there were those, including myself, who didn't mind seeing Natale getting called on his shit. And we seen his excuses- deflection. He's a character, all we can say.

According to DiLeonardo, Gotti told them they weren't recognizing Philly or its members when Stanfa was Boss due to them inducting a cop (Previte) and as well as everything else that was going on there at the time.

I can believe that he was a powerful associate and influential union guy in Atlantic city might have killed a few people and may have reported directly to angelo bruno but thats about it his story is full of holes. Looks like Joey uncle juniored his ass to be the fall guy for the family.

Caprio also testified that the New York families stopped recognising Merlino and Ligambi's leadership after Natale flipped. That was part of what inspired him to launch his bid to kill Ligambi, Mazzone and Borgesi to take over. Obviously things changed and the families (apart from the Lucheses) shortly began recognising Philadelphia again

Natale also claims around 16:00 that either Leonetti or Scarfo were tight as brothers with Joey Merlino. Is there merit to this? Because as far as I know, Merlino was inducted in the 90s and this was after Leonetti had turned informant and Scarfo faced life in prison. Sounds like rambling to me.

That was accurate. The Merlinos were very close with Scarfo and Leonetti before they had a falling out win 1986. Joey Melrino grew up around Leonetti and Scarfo.
