You probably know the story. But Joe took Frank Vincent on as a favor to Pesci when someone in the Jersey crew wanted to pop him. I won't say who it was, but I'm sure you and Bruno have heard the story. He was a very arrogant son of a bitch from what I've heard.Charlie wrote:Frank Vincent was also under him.
There you go. Right on point, kiddo .Charlie wrote:I've heard the story of course lol guy at the bar was Harpo...Hoops was Joe Denti's place.
I've heard the olde Frank Vincent stories...well the ones from NJ at least. Seems like no one liked him in NY either lol. But these are old before most everyone's time on this forum.East Bronx wrote:You probably know the story. Even after all that he almost got himself killed at Hoops up in Mount Vernon. That's way before your time, Charlie, but Bruno might remember. Anyway, he mouthed off to TJ and caught a smack in the mouth from someone in his crew. Then he started screaming Joe D's name over and over and they squashed it a few days later.
For those of you who have no idea what the Hell I'm talking about, TJ's a made guy with the Luccheses, and he already had his button when this took place. He took over the Luccheses' Mount Vernon crew when Johnny Peanuts got murdered in his own house.
Yeah, the incident at Hoops was in the late '70s, right around the time they were casting "Raging Bull." Hoops is where they "discovered" Cathy Moriarty. Even at 18 she was blowing anyone with an olive complexion and a rope chain. For an Irish broad, she really went in for that look.Rocco wrote:I've heard the olde Frank Vincent stories...well the ones from NJ at least. Seems like no one liked him in NY either lol. Ronnie shared her with Richie from Peachtree's. Remember, up in New Rochelle?bronx wrote:she hung out with ronnie lorenzo on canon drive in beverly hills pizza joint.when she first went out there,,ill try and knock some rust off
Yeah, but a lot of that stemmed from an incident with Greg DePalma. He spread an outright lie about Junior that would have gotten almost anyone else popped. Anyway, if you ask me, the guy in Locust Point did him a favor when he broke him.Charlie wrote:Agreed with Bruno and EB on Joe D...He was a good guy and the neighborhood loved him. His son not so much.
