Re: Northeast Ohio Illegal Gambling Bust
The Gambling industry in general prior to the pandemic was starting to really boom in Pennsylvania. They’re all independent establishments too, there are of course some that are franchises like Hard Rock Cafe, etc. But prior to the pandemic, I would be going to Penn once or twice a month to visit family with my wife and every time we go a new casino/hotel is being propped up some where.
Think the mob is still making the kind of money now to be running casinos like they were in Vegas in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s? I don’t personally see why not, tons of opportunities in these kinds of places where gambling was formerly illegal at one point, other than native tribes with Indian gaming rights. But these please would present a newly established market, that upon legalization would be cheap to get into. Similar to how in some states when marijuana became legal, investment into the industry was cheap and extremely profitable but now it’s inflated so to become established would cost more, as I’m sure gambling in places like Penn have, or will soon become. So I think it’s something they easily could have gotten into “legally” when the industry was still young in these places, and could definitely be away to regain some of that power and influence that eroded over the years.
It’s Blood alone, that moves the wheels of history
Re: Northeast Ohio Illegal Gambling Bust
I agree with the part about the legal establishments that you mentioned but I was focusing more on the illegal aspect continually run by remnants of the Mob and otbers like Numbers , Bingo , Video slots , Joker poker, Illegal card games and all the other games etc etc..That are in every bar and restaurant across all these counties and towns constantly busted with huge money figures that are seemingly endless ! Jcb is an expert when it comes to those areas history and goings on . I wonder who and if they're kicking up to anyone ? Maybe people in NY or elsewhere ? I figured with all that endless money and action that someone would be dying to get a piece or already do ?!?! Thanks for the feedback Pep I agree with the legal aspect and the constant opening of casinos etc.Peppermint wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:53 pmThe Gambling industry in general prior to the pandemic was starting to really boom in Pennsylvania. And they had that Genovese guy John Brescia trying to get into the Casino with his pizzeria which was turned down at the 11th hour for his mob ties . I would think they're trying to just get in somehow a million different ways and once they get in , If they so they'll start working they're angles to exploit anything and everything possiblePeppermint wrote: ↑Wed Apr 29, 2020 10:53 pmThe Gambling industry in general prior to the pandemic was starting to really boom in Pennsylvania. Nobody, they're remnants of the old guard still operating with no structure or viable Mafia family. Western PA in Pittsburgh has had a ton of former LCN associates still operating

I know the old time guys are still steady and making headlines and money but I figured maybe by this time 2020 someone outside the area would see all the money being taken in and try and make a move . I guess not , Until that's seen in a bust etc. I guess they're left to do there own bidding. It's crazy the amounts of money and sizable operations they control to this day
