It seems there is very little information on him outside of his early connection to Nicky Barnes and him being elevated to capo after he's released from prison in the late 90s. Has it been confirmed what crew he took over during that time period?

I've always assumed he was Bronx based, and he was born and lived in Selden, NY which is in Suffolk County, Long Island.
He was born and raised in East Harlem. 116th Street.
Thank you HK. There are a few wikipedia and news articles that incorrectly report him being born in Selden.

Assuming he was always with the Lucchese group, Anthony Luongo, Salvatore Santoro, Ettore "Fast Eddie" Cocoa and Giovanni “Big John” Ormento come to mind as potential Lucchese leaders Madonna might have had relationships with in his formative years in Harlem and the Bronx.

What's most interesting to me is that his rise to an admin position was so quick after he's released from prison in the 90's. I'm assuming this in large part due to how much time he served and this raised his status in the family.

I agree that he had a fast rise. But let´s not forget that most of the top Lucchese guys had serious legal troubles at the time and the leadership was in shambles. This certainly helped lower ranked guys up the ladder.

I don´t know when Madonna moved out of East Harlem but by the time of his narcotics conviction in 1976, he lived in the Bronx. Sometime after he was released, he moved to Selden, NY.
There you have it, never printed before.

Was Meldish an independent operator who cooperated with the Luccheses, or was he on record with someone? If Madonna loaned him $100,000 it makes wonder if he was direct with him.

Meldish went back decades with Madonna and I think I remember reading that the 100,000k was Madonna's money on the street that Meldish was supposed to be collecting but then something went wrong...makes more sense than Meldish just telling Madonna to go fuck himself outright, there's more of a story there but others can tell it I dont know it ..

Construction of all kind should be fine, and on going. Depending on the state, construction workers are considered essential workers and so aren’t ordered to quarantine. Likewise with other mob related industries, like waste management, or Italian delicatessens, all considered essential in states like New York as well and thus will remain operational.
There is zero construction taking place in the state of ny. And while delis are essential it all comes down to ownership. Plenty of delis are closed due to the bug. By the way what Italian delicatessen's exist?

Nah. Definitely not eddie coco or john ormento. They was past his prime. More like louie cirillo, fats inglese, sal solce, sammy black, mr. cafaro, gribbs, armone, giordano, joe sass, etc.

Salpinos in Babylon, Long Island. Been there for generations, all Italian family owned. My father knews the owner, and helped manage it for him for a time when he was still in the state. Probably the only deli that’s open in the area, unless you count the Jewish owned bagel stores.

Maybe you’re just thinking of the city, because being in Long Island I can tell you there is still construction taking place. Just recently, as of a few days ago the High School just finished paving a new entrance into their parking lot, and there is a Popeyes currently still being built. As well some other road work here and there, etc. Long Island construction is still going strong. Same with sanitation, but that is irrelevant to the topic because all the garbage unions are owned by the county now, and have no connection to the mob anymore. My father also worked for sanitation for the town of Babylon when I was a kid, back when it still was “that way”

I tell ya the italian run family owned delicatessen is a unicorn. I been looking for one and the last one I knew of was on 2nd avenue and east 106. They fucking tore down all that shit when the 2nd avenue subway was being built. Cocksuckers. Long island might as well be out in timbuktu. What about S.I.? Theres gotta be a ginzo deli out there???

Popeye??? The chicken joint?? How the fuck is that essential??
