This has been mentioned in a couple of books without much revealed, but Felice's Bono wedding thread reminded me, as it was attended by both DeCavalcante members and Montreal Bonannos. Supposedly the DeCavalcantes and Bonanno Montreal crew had business together as late as the 1990s but there is reason to believe there were other connections between them.
I found out that DeCavalcante member Francesco "Joe" Gatto was close to Gerlando Sciascia and maintained contact with Sciascia's relatives in Montreal long after Sciascia's death. These people were all from Agrigento and we know the Agrigentesi from many villages were a tight-knit network going back to the earliest days of the US mafia. Nick Gentile from Siculiana traveled to Quebec with a man from Ribera over 100 years ago, so not surprising to think that mafiosi from Cattolica Eraclea / Siculiana would maintain close ties to the Riberesi in later generations.
There is also the info we've discussed before about an unidentified Sicilian DeCavalcante member known only as "Jerry Dracula" who had a father and brother who were members(?) in Montreal. Felice had previously shared info from Rotondo who said "Dracula" was connected to the "Falcone family" of Canada, then JD shared info that it was in fact the Bonanno Montreal crew they were connected to. I don't believe we ever came up with any viable candidates for "Dracula" or his relatives, but maybe some new ideas will come to mind.
Curious if anyone else knows of other examples of contact / relationships between the DeCavalcantes and Montreal Bonannos. The Gatto information was very interesting to me though I don't have further details right now.
