Philadelphia Mob Boss Natale to Write Tell-All Book
The 1990s Philadelphia Mob boss Ralph Natale is to be the second Mafia boss to put out an autobiography. Two New York Daily News staff, one an investigative journalist and the other a producer, will be helping him. Could be some interesting revelations.

I seen that. I'll be surprised if Ron Miscavige goes through with it. He sent out feelers before and David the son bought him off. But it'd be great if the project goes somewhere.
As for Natale, blahhhh, that book will make Phil Carlo's look like Peter Maas. I imagine the title will probably have "fall of the American Mob" in it somewhere like they all do.

Is the other autobiography Al D'Arco? Didn't Jimmy the Weasel also do one?

Yes, but the selling point here is that Natale was a boss and those guys weren't. Still waiting for Joey Massino to write one. If we could pitch a book deal to John DiFronzo, now that would be interesting. Don't know who's running the Genovese's these days since they have a rotating panel, but...never gonna happen.JCB1977 wrote:Is the other autobiography Al D'Arco? Didn't Jimmy the Weasel also do one?

If he does go into in depth detail on his reign as Boss we could get some really good info but I doubt he will. I'd feel a lot better about this if Anastasia was the one writing it with Natale.

I can't think of a mafia bio less worth reading.
A mere associate until inducted straight to a front/pawn/puppet boss.
Anything he'll say will be ridiculous self inflating nonsense. Jeezus the books description was hard to take in of itself.
Waste of a tree.

I wouldn't mind reading this to get up to date on the Philly family, but I'm not sure Natale will write a decent book. Remember this dudes story and what is wrong with him, I don't have my hopes up that he will "tell the truth" or write anything of substance.
If I didn't have my case coming up, I would like to come back with you gentlemen when this is over with and really lay the law down what is going on in this country.....

Go back to his testimony:
"I set about rebuilding the crime family and a few young men rallied around me because of my reputation as a man."
"I was the first boss recognized by NY after Scarfo."
And that's just a few bits. He'd be a perfect here.

Re: Philadelphia Mob Boss Natale to Write Tell-All Book
He could write a great book about being an associate and union goon during Bruno's heyday. The family didn't have many significant union connections but the bartender's union was a mob stronghold for many years and Natale was right at the center of it. If he were to say humble and stick to the truth, he would write a valuable new chapter about the Philly family's history while also getting to tell his side of the story from when he was boss. I would love to hear more about the kind of communications he was getting from the street when he was in prison during the Stanfa war also.
Unfortunately we already know a bit about Ralph Natale's personality, and like a lot of rats he will most likely stretch the truth and ruin the integrity of his entire story even if some of it is true. I would be very surprised if Natale writes an honest book.

Re: Philadelphia Mob Boss Natale to Write Tell-All Book
Didn't Natale already try claiming he had killed some people in the 60's for Bruno and Carlo Gambino which almost got in trouble because he only confessed to 2 personal killings in the 70's? This book will be 100 percent bullshit. If he even goes into depth about the Bruno days it will be that he was Bruno's favorite guy and how Scarfo and everyone else was stupid. I would like to ask him personally how does he feel that he was played like a chump by Merlino.
Re: Philadelphia Mob Boss Natale to Write Tell-All Book
I also remember something about him claiming that he had actually been made by Bruno, which as we know is complete BS and flies in the face of his testimony.brianwellbrock wrote:Didn't Natale already try claiming he had killed some people in the 60's for Bruno and Carlo Gambino which almost got in trouble because he only confessed to 2 personal killings in the 70's? I remember him saying that Bruno offered him membership and him turning it down, telling Bruno that if he became a member, he'd have to kill a bunch of a guys. "Bruno seemed to understand." He said he was Bruno's dog and that he would turn him loose when needed.B. wrote:I also remember something about him claiming that he had actually been made by Bruno, which as we know is complete BS and flies in the face of his testimony.brianwellbrock wrote:Didn't Natale already try claiming he had killed some people in the 60's for Bruno and Carlo Gambino which almost got in trouble because he only confessed to 2 personal killings in the 70's?
